Turbos get good ratings on the EPA test because they are carefully turned to NEVER BE IN BOOST DURING THE TEST, but they are shit on MPG the instant you get into boost because you aren't a computer and you want the truck to respond to the fast pedal.

What extra maintenance do you need to do with a turbo?

Those aren't EPA numbers those are what I got driving the same route between my F150 and my Taco.

All you turbo complainers better starting buying trucks now because its the way of the future like it or not.

:notsure: Still have one I've driven like a maniac for over 10 years and it is problem free, save for wear/tear items
Still not sure about the turbo hate. Unjustified. Better gas mileage and when manufactured to perform, more power.

Guaranteed all of the turbo haters haven't owned a modern turbo car. But they'll be quick to jump in about some issues their neighbors cousins husband had with his ecoboost. And how their car went a million miles and they never opened the hood all because it was an n/a slug.

Me ex had an escape with an ecoboost. That 1.6 had to be replaced at 16k miles. Thats my experience with ecoboost engines. I would never ever get an ecoboost engine, no offense to anyone.

And was it direct result of the turbo or an engine issue that would have happened either way? Shit happens no doubt and sucks when it happens to you. But in reality turbos are very reliable.

My fellow coworker has an Escape with the Ecoboost and the engine was done at 25k. The engine ended up getting some internal coolant leak causing a misfire.

Another coworker had his blow up in his f150 after the timing chain decided to not go with the program. The miles weren't that high either. I suspect in that case the hole in the whole shop he was using was putting the wrong oil in it which accelerated the demise

The coolant got into the engine oil, so im guessing not directly turbo related.

Dude, I just bought a 2020 taco. I won't be buying another one for a decade or more. That's WHY I bought a taco and not a Fard.

By the time I need another truck it will be battery powered.

So like I figured. Nothing modern. And the turbo is what made the Supra what it is. Was a dog without it.

Again you have no experience but sure have an opinion.

And I’m just Friday shitposting. Hope nobody gets their panties in a bunch.
