Listening to a lady complain to my Sergeant about us kicking her door in earlier today. Her son was there and had an arrest warrant. Doesn't think we were justified in kicking her door in and she can't leave for her vacation to California now...

at least you have a reason to be eating alone...my dept just passed a new policy (because of some stupid squads) that we can no longer eat as a group...a couple of squads ruined it for everyone else when they left their region in the middle of the day to go eat and calls were backing up (non-priority calls of course)

Yeah, our region Lieutenant put out the same policy of no more than 2 units at the same place for meals. During days we used to have 4-5 units at one place. Granted we had 10 units to a squad, but he didn't like that. He also made it policy, no mare than 2 units at one time in the substation. Glad I'm not a Supervisor anymore. He'd call me during the day to yell at me about my guys. I'm beginning to think that the Sheriff made a good decision of eliminating the Patrol Corporal position and making us all Lead Deputies again. No more citizen complaints, no more admin on my back. I can tell people "no" and if they don't like it, they can go cry to my Sergeant or Lieutenant. :p

long story short, my train leaving downtown LA was 30 minutes late, and my connection to the bus that goes to LAX was in Watts...yea, it sucks. Well, by the time my train got to Watts, the bus never came. I called two cab companies and none of them would pick me up.

So im standing alone with two bags at Grandee and 103rd st, shitty ass neighborhood. 40 minutes before my flight leave, i walk past two LA Sheriff's deputies arresting some dude on a bicycle. So they're doing their shit and I shouted "hey guys, i dont want to disturb you, but Im late for my flight, and was wondering if you guys could give me a ride."

They looked at each other, one walked up to me and made sure i wasnt high or anything, then told me to get in the back....with the guy they arrested. They blew thru all the stop lights, gunned it to LAX, and got me there in time to make the very next flight, which was early enough for me to make my existing connection out of Dulles. I called their watchcommander and commended them.
