Has anyone ever dealt with Wilco's off road tailgate tire carrier for the price i feel it overpriced, i was trying to avoid buying a custom bumper but from the looks of it i may be better off getting a sing sided swing out arm from cbi for the price id love any input you guys have on thse if they do sales or other thing really trying to avoid getting another rear bumper

I k ow i can just get the hitch receiver but thats just looks ugly to me stupid reason but we all want outlr trucks to lool a certain way

No experience with them, but that would be a hard pass from me. I'd get the bumper with the single swing out before I put down that much money for something less functional.

I agree with you on that i just hate having to open the swing out, and then the bed and the close it all back up i hated that with the dual swing out one of the main reasons i sold it i go into the bed almost every day to get to something but for an extra 1000 i get a rear bumper, and a gas carrier and a hitch carrier which seems worth the extra 1000

That is a price of a swingout for my truck so hard pass. One thing you could do is leave the swingout off until you go off roading/need it for some reason :notsure:

Eddy did me good on fixing the first swingout I got from him, well actually built me a new bumper. I would have recommended his swingout and did....but....recently we @JonesMGMOR and me installed a SOS swing on his taco and for some dumb ass reason he went back to not supporting it...it is as bad as my original one...bounces all over and the flex in the bumper is scary. Currently Jon has his off the truck, and is trying to get in touch with Eddy, which also seems to be an issue. At this time I would not recommend SOS for a swingout, just boggles my mind that he reverted back to the crappy design.

My swingout has been perfect, and they're running a 20% off sale. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/sos-concepts-7-year-20-off-sale.683340/

All my armor is SOS offroad concepts. I got it all bare to save money, picked it up direct from Eddy to save money, and painted it all myself. I have zero complaints. My rear bumper has been super functional and has had zero issues towing 6000lb+ loads. My front bumper has been good for use with the winch - albeit I've used it for landscaping dozens of times and only a couple of times for recovering others. The sliders have literally saved my rocker panels multiple times when I've high centered my DCLB since the breakover angle is low. The IFS skid is full of huge dents and I've beached the truck on it on a huge rock in a creek before. The only ones I've probably not used much are the mid and tcase skids - but they still have lots of marks on them from being draaaaaged over rocks after the IFS skid takes the hit, so they're doing their job.

Anyways, my point is, SOS rocks - buy their shit.

I mean for a 20 percent off its seems worth the gamble have you had any issues with your rear swing out bumper cause i believe that was the failing point on the other members friends and his orginally why i was hesitating going with them i too have the sos rocksliders and have been happy with them just concerned since it was two incidents not just one but every company has its good and bad experiences so maybe i shouldn't write them off just yet im going ro email him see what his warranty turn around time is

No issues at all with mine.

I do have the high clearance version - I think the version that had issues that BadgerBoy was talking about was the standard / non-high clearance version. Eddy will do right by you if it's not working well, they pride themselves on doing good work. They often do have lead times and are slow to respond though, because they're a small business and get a ton of sales when they run promotions like this 20% off one.

Well thank you all for your inputs especially considering for less than a wilco you get a bumper tire carrier ,and gas can carrier and its not across the country Ill be debating on getting a sos rear bumper priced it out for a single sided swingout and accessories after discount its under 1400 local pick up that actually seems like a bomb ass deal

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Think on it hard bro. It sounded like you were really after a standard bumper with the amount of access you needed. I would be stay away from the SOS swingout. The one I saw on Brads truck wasn’t proper by any stretch. While they do make solid armor, the swingout design on Brad and Jone’s isn’t correct. You will have failures if he still builds them the same.
If I was looking at their stuff, I would just get a standard rear steel bumper and call it.
