Hey guys. Wondering what the OR comes standard with. I know 4x4 but as far as the rear locker, crawl control and such I don’t know what would be considered the upgrades. I’m terrible at researching these things and haven’t made it to Toyota to check it out yet. Thinking about trading in the sport, it’s not cutting it out here in the desert of AZ. Thanks in advance!

You basically covered it. Rear locker and crawl control/multi terrain select are the big ones.

What makes you say the sport isn't cutting it?

I really don't think having the sport vs OR is going to make the difference in getting stuck or making it through in 99% of situations.

There is just a lot of trails that I don’t have the confidence running through with the 2wd that I want to try. Amd I’ve had trouble getting up some sandy hills or through some loose dirt. And right now it’s just an idea being thrown around in my head.

so the crawl control and multi terrain come standard?

Basically if your going to take your truck on a trail where one of your rear tires is going to slip, the OR is probably for you.

The locker and the a-Trac make a difference.

4x4 is not standard on the off road. Just a heads up incase you didn't know. If it just says trd off road its 2wd. It has to say 4x4 by the trd sticker on the bed.

Didn't realize you had a 2wd. Auto OR trucks get mts crawl control and diff lock.

Manual trucks just get a trac and diff lock. No mts or crawl.

Don’t forget the suspension.Diffrence between sport and off-road is the sport is built for street and the off road more for light off-roading . I would not do any hardcore off-roading in my truck . I look at the off-road as a base platform to build a hardcore off-roader . Since u get locker 4x4 and so on . But the stock skid plate is a joke . More for looks than actual functionality. And the stock tires definitely need to go .

Ok cool, yea I’m not gonna be doing any serious rock crawling or anything like that. They are the bilstein 5100’s on the OR right?

as far as tires, does OR come with same stock tires as sport?

Well as I said before there is a lot of loose dirt/sandy areas out in the desert. I have had some issues but nothing really yet that I couldn’t get out of. But at the same time I haven’t run some trails that I want to because I don’t have the confidence in the truck or my skill. Just looking to get something more capable and go a little further is all

I guess I like your idea of a trade in. The OR is what I have.

If you want the ultimate, you've got to be willing to pay the ultimate price. ...

The OR comes with the same stock tires as the Pro. The Sport is more of a street tire. To be honest, the one on the OR and Pro isn't the greatest for off road either even among all terrains. (Why the pro doesn't have something more aggressive is beyond me).

I'd at least get a 4x4, no matter the trim you opt for. I like my OR though!

I believe they come with Bilstein 4600’s and the stock wheels are 16” (17” on the Sport) with Goodyear Wrangler adventure with Kevlar 265/70/16

I mean getting a 4wd truck is the better upgrade. A locker will be so-so on sand. You'd have more luck dropping your tire pressure down to about 16-18lbs.

I have no experience with multi terrain or crawl control. Manual transmission here. We get a-Trac instead.

I think for 4x4 you need more than a sticker. Maybe a front diff and t-case but I’m not an expert at these things.
