Depends on how I attach it... I want to avoid screwing into it in case I want to keep it emblem free later.

Awesome can't wait to see it with the emblem on it as well, whether it be a Tacoma or Toyota Emblem.

I tested theses grilles out very thoroughly on the 2018's + I never had any issues at all, however every once in a blue moon when a customer relocates the sensor it can happen that it you may get errors at first, seems like some sensors are more sensitive than other. However, make sure to double check that you installed it correctly and that the sensor is even and level.

What some customers do is cut off the pegs form the emblem and use 3M double sided tape to hold on the emblem. Seems to work pretty well for them. Just make sure you get the strong tape.

I honestly haven't had time to take a look and see if there's something wrong with the sensor (either not leveled or a bit loose) It's not all the time that I get the light on soI'm pretty sure once I look into it I'll figure it out.

I'll definitely have to take a look. Love the look though!

My orders been stuck for a couple weeks now in limbo apparently. Probably because of the fires or the whole USPS fiasco. But my truck is also stuck at the dealers  So thanx everyone for their feedback and pics! Getting pumped to tackle this mod soon!

I can confirm that I have done extensive testing on numerous different 2018+ Tacomas for long periods of time to ensure that this works. Also I have sold numerous grilles to 2018+ owners and have never had to return one due to the issue, unfortunately you don't hear from the one's it works on. If you do order a grille and are having issues with it just reach out and I'll make things right.

I like my customers to be happy, if you look at a reviews from my customers you will find that.

Also the way this grille works on the 2018+ is very similar to how it works on the pro grilles. Remember even the guys who swap their grilles out for the pros occasionally have issues as well.

However, for the time being I do have one review handy. I will dig for some more confirmed cases it works.

I had this grille for a long time with no issues with my TSS. I give my thumbs up for approval, I had the same concerns about TSS prior as well, but it worked out fine even thru the countless muddy and dirty trails. It will make your Taco stand out from the crowd; I had people “remember” the truck from the grille. Unfortunately since I have joined the millions of others who have the Pro grille <facepalm>. I still have my grille in my garage, I might even go back to it!

Is the mesh required to install the TSS sensor?

Any folks with the 2020 and advanced technology package which has the front camera? This grille looks really good, and would rather go this route than the Pro.

Yep, still working all this time later. And still my favorite cosmetic modification. [used to be my overall favorite mod, until I got swaybars.] :)

I've updated the grille to where the mesh is not required to work on the 2018's+ now but some folks like it because it adds a nice look and also lets you add raptor lights, badges, front cameras etc. to your grille.

Just make sure you get the 2018-2020 model:
    https://www.x-trek.com/products/2018-2020-Toyota-Tacoma-Grille-Insert-p220321310

Thank you, while I have not personally installed the 2020 front camera on the grilles I'm fairly certain that you could mount the camera to the mesh or even possible the grille itself.

Some customers have even mounted lights and other equipment straight into the grilles. I'm thinking you could do something similar to the post below or if you got the mesh you could just bolt the camera directly to the mesh.

    Lettering is not included.

My suggestion is to get the Toyota Emblem.

You can order it through the link below but there is probably places like eBay who might sell it for less.
    https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Toyo...ywords=Toyota+FJ+Emblem&qid=1600230990&sr=8-2

Or if you want to go the economical route you can get the vinyl lettering:
