This is why I would want a 3D printer. That's pretty cool. I have my TC shifter to the right of the auto shifter, and two cup holders (pic before 2nd cup holder).

The first thing you have to know is that this is at minimum a hobby. The star trek fantasy of push a button, walk away, then come back when it's done doesn't really exist. You will have problems you're going to have to diagnose. Sometimes it will be the model, others it will be the machine. Cheaper machines tend to have more frequent part failure.

Exactly. That's why I think I'll stick with welding cutting grinding with metal.

Has anyone made or know of it's possible to print a door panel insert for 2nd gens? Mine have cracked and don't have the time to do the fiberglass repair.

Haven't seen anything like that on any of the sites I browse. Truth is if it is over 12 inches it's unlikely. Printers tend to get more expensive past that point, especially for anything that would be considered reliable. Because of that fewer people have them and so fewer people make parts that big.

Got some free time to do some modeling while I wait for my print to finish. Already got a 4 switch version modeled. I'm doing research on a wireless charger pcb. What are some features you guys would like to see in the console I'm working on?

Just off the top of my head, I've always wanted the bezel to have a deeper cubby. Where the cup holder is. So bigger water bottles, phones etc could be easily placed.

Definitely jumped in over my head when I went to the duet2wifi with my ender5. Can't get it to do much more than home the axes and tinker around with the web config. Tried to run auto pid for the bed and hot end heaters, but I seem to be going round in circles. I haven't even calibrated my extrusion steps yet, but using the oem creality parameters for the xyz steps seem to be pretty close so the extruder should be also. I've compared my config to a few other ender 5 duet configs, but not sure if I inadvertently wired it up different but I've had to invert or change the config to get the printer oriented correctly. :annoyed::help:

I've pretty much given up on the abl/mesh, since I'm using a cheapo proximity sensor, I can get it to probe, but it won't stop the z axis from crashing into the hot end. Even though my limit switch is configured it acts like it didn't even notice it triggered and try to go-to z301+ when it's set to max 300 with a trigger at 297.

I feel your pain. I upgraded to a duet when i built my printer figuring I might as well go with a better setup from the get go... I spent forever figuring everything out. And went back and forth to this page hundreds of times. https://duet3d.dozuki.com/Wiki/Gcode#

If you copy and paste your config file on their forums someone will probably be able to point out what needs to be changed. https://forum.duet3d.com/

Check that the polarity on the stepper cables is correct. I had to repin mine. Inverting in the firmware shouldn't really hurt anything.

Just wait until you try to hook up a raspberry pi...
