    Hi guys,

so my 887 coil sagged I don't have any additional weight specially at front.

I know that 3rd gen is heavier than 2nd gen tacoma.

does anyone have a ome 886 with bilstein 5100 setup on their 3rd gen without additional weight at front here?

Headstrong don’t recommended this kind of setup but the stock TRD Off-road coil spring rate is 700lbs which can be paired with 5100 but not the 886 with 660lbs?

I can go ome 888 but I see a lot of 3rd gen guys also complain about sagging too.

my truck still stock prepping for bigger tires.

any insight will be great thanks!

I have the 886 coils but paired with the OME struts. I went with the 886s because so many horror stories of sag with the OME coils. I don’t have any weight up front yet and the ride can be a little stiff at times but I like it (throw that sway bar right in the trash!).

Some people will install a spacer to make up for the sag.

Did you also replace your uca’s or still stock? How much lift did you gained?

@Vjtrey1 I’m really close to 3 inches up front. I ran the stock UCAs for quite a while but the JBAs I have now greatly improve the ride

I want to have 2-2.5 lift. My 887 sagged and now I only have 1.5 lift.

Run a 1/2” top plate spacer call it done. You should plan on getting upper control arms. I’m at 2” and had a good time aligning truck at my bro’s shop. Also to fit 33’s. Imo

So if I replace my coil with 886 I probably can get away with my stock uca’s, i will upgrade my uca’s but not now.

Strange. My 888 were fantastic until I added skids and sliders. The stock rate is around 500 lbs, if I remember correctly. OME is 590, unless you go 886.

I thought the stock coils spring rate was 700 lbs.

Definitely not. 700 is recommended for winch, armor, and other accessories. My springs are comfortable with my weight, but sag a little with the armor I do have (590 lbs rate). I’ll jump to the 886 (660 lbs) or 700 lbs coilovers when I add a bumper/winch.

Interesting. My 887/5100 combo has been flawless. No sagging at all that I can tell. No additional weight up front either. :notsure: Crazy how 2 exact same model trucks can be so different with suspension and outcomes.

Not that long at all so that may be the issue. Hopefully not a sign of what is to come :annoyed:
