I could be wrong on the tongue weight part. I could be talking out my ass from the internet telling me and dont know enough to speak about it with any ability to back it up. It's likely more along the lines of your statement having to do with the balance of a trailer. In the posts there seemed to be people more knowledgeable than myself(which is anyone with trailer knowledge) who explained the problem and cause well. While there was a lot of unfounded opinions the consensus from the ones who could back up their argument was weight of the trailer force on the tongue, so maybe not tongue weight but the force put on the tongue while on rough and/or washboard roads while going to fast.

 

I dunno, have to see them next to each other to compare I guess and I'll have to see a Tacoma in the army green to know if I like it. The 4 runner I saw I'd buy for sure if I could...

 

Actually maybe not on that one. My old RPOD was twice that camper, more loaded with a slide. Still not big for a camper but only 2600 lbs loaded. Still probably a balance issue and going to fast.

Pretty light unloaded. Couple deep cycles, 20 gallons of H20, 10 gallons of gas. We are gonna be bumping 2k. Most likely they had that stuff in the front tongue box adding to the messed up geometry.

Yes, unloaded, fresh off the showroom floor, they are light.

 

Perhaps coupled with more crap in the bed and a junk lift kit. Very feasible over loaded rear.
