I currently have a 2018 TRD Sport Double Cab with 15,000 miles in Inferno Orange. I am contemplating trading it in for: a 2020 in Vooodooo Blue or Barcelona Red TRD Sport w/Premium package or a 2021 Army Green TRD Sport w/Premium package or the 2021 TRD Pro in Lunar Rock.

I don't really know which way to go. Dealer has offered me $31,500 for mine.

Any suggestions? Is the ride that much rough in a Pro versus a sport???

Don’t take that dealer offer for sure. Why do you want to get a 20 or 21? Won’t you just want a 23 in a couple years?

If I were you, I'd just do:
    • APEX LED headlights assemblies
    • Fox Stage 2 suspension upgrade
Maybe if you really want to do it or need it, add an air locker
and then what you're missing are just BSM, TSS etc electronic nannies.
All that gonna set you back about $8k
but still cheaper than buying another new truck

+1! Why sign up for more debt for essentially the same truck?

Why do you dislike your current one?

Please trade it in, get the more expensive one, keep driving up the prices.

seriously, why would you want to trade in your truck with 15k miles?

8k?? You crazy brah. More like $3k. Easy choice OP. Fox stage 2, Harrop e locker and led fog lights. That’s the difference in the pro.

He’s looking at sports or pro, so clearly it’s not about the locker or suspension. I know I know, crazy.

Honestly here is why I am even considering the trade......

When I got my Taco I didn't get the Premium package so I dont have the better audio (I think the one i have SUCKS), moonroof (which I really like) and the heated leather seats (which are nice in my climate).

If I had gotten the Premium upgrade package in the first place, this wouldn't even be a topic of conversation.

The whole topic came up last Friday with my dealer when we picked up my wife's 2020 4Runner SR5 Premium, WHICH SHE LOVES!

When I looked at the package that I want on the Sport the Pro isn't that far off in pricing, that I why I asked about it.

The "upgraded" JBL system sucks as well. The moon roof takes up a lot of head room/you probably won't use it as much as you think. Get Clazzio's with the heaters and call it a day.

I traded mine in for a Tundra, however I had kids and carseats to worry about. I'd double check your BB and call around to different dealers and see what they would give you. If you decide to trade in DO YOUR RESEARCH and see if you can get a better deal, it worked in my favor and I'm in about the same as I was for my Tacoma.

Carvana offered me more than that for my 2WD sport with twice the miles on the odometer.

There's not enough difference between the 2018s and new to justify resetting the bank loan for it. If I'm in the mood for a new one, I'll just spend a few grand to wrap it in a different color. That will wind up costing way less in the long run.

As others have noted, there are cheaper and better options to get you the audio upgrade and heated leather seats.
