Noticed my antifreeze was low.. Should I drain it and refill or just refill? I cannot recall the last time it was done since the truck was passed down to me.. And what type of coolant? I have some 50/50 blend .

Did a quick scan of Yota Tech and it seems you can use any quality antifreeze. That does not, however, mean you can mix them. So, get more of whatever's in there (if you know) or do a complete flush-n-fill. Depending on mileage since last refill...might not be a bad idea.

Are you referring to the white overflow canister in the engine bay? A cup is fine there. You have to pull off the radiator cap (do it when engine is cold!) to see what your coolant levels are and what color it is. If it is reddish in color, I would use the toyota red antifreeze. In addition, since you do not know when it was last changed, I would have the system flushed. From what it sounds like, I would have someone perform the service for you.
