Trying to use a factory e locker switch to actuate my arb diff locker. Anyone know what the 4 wires are by color to spice to the arb harness?

The orange and white is ignition power, the blue and white is illumination then the black is negative and red is positive.

The outer bk/red and red/bk wires switch the diff lock; the inner gn/red and white/gn are for the switch illumination.

The factory switch is very simple to check with your meter.

Since it is no longer in the harness it does not matter it is just on and off.

What year did that come out of?? 96 red/ Yellow goes to power source 10 amp gauge fuse Red/Black goes to the 4wd ECU

You are just using the factory switch to energize a relay

This is why ARB sells the harness for those not able to build there own yet .

Patching things together after a great used locker find ??

I have the compressor already installed and a locker ready to put in. I have the arb switch but the factory switch is a lot cleaner and the arb switch requires trimming to fit in the dash.

If I were to wire up the arb relay to the factory switch can I get power and illumination?

the truck is a 96 but the switch is off eBay and I’ve had it a while. Last year I thought I was going elocker but that changed quickly

compressor wired to run as long as engine is running or does that need wired as well??

Your switch would energize the coil of the ARB relay( if you have it) that way the current draw is low and can be handled by the switch

Simple to light your switch do you want it on with the dash lights or on when the locker is engaged or a added light for the locker engaged so it does not stay on driving down the interstate

If the bulb does in fact work something to check now .

My question I guess is how do I wire the arb switch wires to the factory switch. If someone could lay it out for me I’d really appreciate it

The factory switch is just that open or closed .

The light is a matter of the load side of the switch and ground .

Just what all are you doing with that one switch??

Do you have the complete ARB Compressor and Locker harness installed ??

Any Help close by these things are so much easier in person??

Have you searched for How to wire my ARB locker ??

Time to buy a simple Multimeter your kind of wondering around blind without one.

Besides always double check things with a meter

I have a multimeter but I misplaced one of the test leads. Assumed I was not the first person to attempt this and skip the trial and error

Yes to the second question about harness . It’s all installed and ready to go. I could if I was interested just plug the provided arb switch in but that’s not what I’m after

I personally wouldn’t run the compressor all the time. You can wire it for the locker to lock and the compressor come on at the same time if you like, and don’t have an auxiliary tank to fill. I have an auxiliary air tank and it takes a good 30-45 seconds to fill. The arb compressor doesn’t hold the air pressure over time, meaning every time you start your truck, you’re going to hear the compressor for a few seconds.
I wired mine different than anyone else that I’ve seen. A fail safe job as I look at it. My compressor switch has to be on to engage the rear locker, and I tapped into the 4x4 light in the dash to get power for my front locker. So to engage my front locker my truck has to be in 4x4 already. I did this because of my ADD in the front, the axle shafts turn all the time with the wheel. If it were put in lock while moving, out of 4x4 the spider gears would most likely explode as they are turning all the time the truck is moving in 2wd.

already have the compressor switch wired and mounted for on board air. This is just an addition. You would have to toggle the air compressor anyway if you wanted the locker

How mine is wired, yes. Even if I had 90psi in my air tank I would have to turn the compressor on first before engaging the rear locker. I didn’t use ARB’s wiring, I built my own.
