Did you get any airbag caution lights when you removed the seat belt retractors?

    Dude that looks fantastic!
Dont worry about hardware and what you use as long as its functional!
My light bar is bolted to gate hinges....

But yeah utilize the space if you're not using it.

    Welcome to hell
    :stirthepot:

In regards of the actual lift, pretty sure all of us will say avoid blocks.
I still run stock suspension and i've been beating my head for months trying to figure out what i want. At the end of the day, pick something in your budget and dont go over it!

So here's the story: most of you won't read because it'll be long

Got a new set of tires and the offer came with an alignment special. Ok, do the alignment .
Went home over some neighborhood roads so I didn't feel anything.

The next day I go to work using 400 series highways and.... I can barely keep the truck in one lane!!!!
Pulls to the right, steering input lag is insane and so on...
Looked under the truck and cam bolts are turned in all directions, one wheel sticks out, the other falls into the wheel well...

Decided to take it to a place where they do high end cars.. ( not Eugenes place)

After their alignment, wheels are still one in, the other out, cam bolts point in all directions but the truck became somewhat drivable.
Not 4 days after, I feel every single tire lug every time I turn... Something's wrong.
Looked at the truck from the front and... my front wheels make a perfect V. Yes, the outer edges started wearing out already...

Now I'm getting frustrated as I don't know what to do. In the meantime, I called one other alignment shop and I heard I need to leave the truck for the weekend to get it done..(?) Like fuck !

So I contacted one TW member regarding this matter and what happened...

He shows up at my driveway the same day with all the tools , gets caster and camber done in 30 min with an electronic level (!!!), approximate toe with a fishing line and a 3rd grade ruller. Toe was not perfect, so it took two more attempts to get it right.

All in all, no waiting, no leaving the truck for the weekend and it's driving as it should!!!

BIG THANKS TO THE MAN!!! @3JOH22A

I still get some at starts and at highway speeds but that doesn't always happen. Might try 2 degree shims before ardbeg as it will bring down working angle down.
    time will tell...

    Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd say what up. Been reading up on some of the threads here, looks like a great group of people! Hope to get to know you all at some point. I'm a complete newb to the offroad scene, really interested in learning as much as I can, and making a plan for modifications. Definitely hope to make it out to a trail run soon, I think Ganaraska will be my first chance to make it out. I hope you all have a blast next weekend at Ardberg!

I was wondering if there's a thread out there that has a list of mods for stock taco's, the best things to do for safety and ground clearance, maintenance too. Anyone wants to point me in a useful direction. I would greatly appreciate it (my searching skills aren't fantastic).

Hope you all are enjoying your Sunday!

Howdy good sir! Good to have you onboard!

Since you're 3rd gen, give this one a look. The rest will follow as you learn about the truck and you'll clarify which way you want to go.

Other than that, just go out and try things.

I learned with my truck you can't tell the alignment shop to just align it, as they MAY put it in "Spec" but the Toyota Specs for the Tacoma are too wide, and wrong target values...

Lol even watching the dealership guys do it, they are following the alignment computer directions on which bolt to turn and then trying to get it in the "Green". And even in spec these trucks will drive like shit...

    I tell the alignment shops/dealer (stock control arms 1.5" lift);

" Crank the Caster all the way up as far as it will go, Passenger side to have the higher caster by a max of .3deg
(they should easily get +1.5 to 2.4 deg depending on the truck and how much lift)
Set Camber to 0.0 both sides.
Set toe to =+0.2 both sides.
    Do not bend the tabs,
Make sure the cambolts are properly torqued to spec when you are done.
    I want a print out.
Make Sure the steering wheel is centred as I go all OCD when it's crooked "

First place they should start (after clamping the steering wheel straight) adjusting is the Upper control arm cams, for the Caster,
(brings the Upper ball joint closer to the cabin) if they start at the lower controls arms then give them a smack and tell them to start with the upper and crank it all the way back towards the passenger cabin and start from there.
If they start adjusting at the tie rod ends before anything else...
tell them to bring your truck down because they do not know what they are doing...

Which seems to be a lot of alignment shops....

Round of applause for @3JOH22A ,
proving that if you feed an old guy some beer and give him a piece of string,
he'll out perform a millennial with lasers any day of the week!

It is nice to see people waking up to the propaganda that has been pushed so hard for months.

The flip flopping on masks alone should show what a false flag this entire event has been.

    A total bunch of BS.

Gov cant force you to ware a mask, but they can push hard on the poor businesses that are already crushed by this nonsense. Tell them they will get in trouble if THEY dont enforce a mask rule.

Now lets make it seem like this '2nd wave' is going to wipe the earth clean.

WTF happend to simply flatten the curve? That went away real fast, when there was no curve.

    Lol, :anonymous:,

    Well as Trump would say
"Well he's beyond his years in mechanical skill, and he's getting older every day, so see,
I was right all along, just forward thinking.
    Next question please"
