Installed my Lomax Professional diamond plate hard fold Tonneau cover today and overall I'm very pleased with how it looks and functions. Pretty sturdy with the extra support in the middle of each panel. Will have to see how it performs over time now.
Package arrived in very good shape. Installation of the rails took a while, the drawings in the instructions didn't seem to match the two rail pieces (short piece and long piece for each side that were wrapped together). Finally I decided they just didn't match up to make the right length, and wondered if they had been mixed up. So I went and got the opposite side short rail piece from the other wrapped package and sure enough, it matched up with the long piece, and they bolted together perfectly and the right length for the bed, so they had just mixed up the pieces when bundling at the factory. I wish the instructions had had photo's instead of drawings, that would have made it so much clearer and I would have realized quickly they had the pieces mixed up. I may do an install thread with the photo's I took.

To make up for it, installing the cover was a dream and took no time, slide in at a slight angle down to latch the front latch, fold down, everything latched perfectly, perfect fit. I enlisted the help of my son and that was nice especially for installing the cover the first time.

I chose the Lomax Professional for several reasons, easy to remove the cover (1 minute) as the standard Lomax is, sturdier with the added brace, gives me plenty of room folded up with my long bed and bed extender to haul taller items. The diamond plate shouldn't show smears, dirt, etc. as much, and in theory should keep the items under the cover cooler than a black top cover (I will measure at some point with a thermocouple meter), and it compliments the Sky Silver Metallic color of my truck. Some people hate diamond plate, some love it, I'm in between but this one was just what I wanted. I'm more for utility, hardiness, and function than appearance. Wife unit took a look at it and says "do you like it?" so I don't put her down on the "love it" side lol. But yes, I do, it's a man kinda cover. :D

Thanks to Luke Kyle at truckalterations.com for getting me exactly what i wanted! And thanks to @Kalesa Taco, the first person on TW I know of getting a Lomax Professional, for his advice and information before I purchased.

Hey all! Just got my Lomax in and it looks great! Shoutout to @GotExhaust for a great quote and fast shipping. Very professional and quick to respond to any questions or concerns. I noticed that people would complain about the unpainted look of the end of the rails so I was all ready to touch them up. But I was surprised to see the cut ends were already painted. I also added some ESI Ultimate Tailgate Seal to hopefully address any gaps that water and dust could come through. But I really like the low profile look of it and setting it up by myself was a breeze. The Tacoma is finally coming together. Just waiting for the OEM bed mat and bed lighting kit and I'm in business!

That looks great. Interesting that the side cuts are painted on yours. Mine are not but I'm good with like that. It is a good looking cover. I used the same tailgate seal with mine also. I do still get a few drops of water in mine but nothing has really got wet so far. I have to mat now too and you will like the bed mat.
As far as shipping GotExaust shipped mine out fast but UPS held it up, not the vendors fault at all but he was concerned about it.

The side cuts are still bare. Its not actually painted, just the way I took the picture. I don't mind though.

Just the normal Tri Fold. I didn't like the idea of sticking something to the roof of the cab.

Ordered my Lomax from Luke Kyle - Owner of Truck Alterations last Thursday It arrived Tuesday. Put it on my brand new Tacoma SR today. Everything - EVERYTHING - was great with the order (Luke - thanks for the amazing price), the shipping, the packaging, the installation, and the looks of this cover. And thanks to this forum for turning me onto to Luke.

I just installed one yesterday, and your set up is off. Your side rail has to sit really flush to the truck. You can see your bolt is also somewhat crooked because it’s not flush.

I remembered this post of yours when I ordered my Lomax cover, checked out the front rail under the window and it is indeed rough, like course sandpaper. So I came up with a solution ...

*** UPDATE: That didn't work well! I posted too soon! ****
I had previously used some 3M linerless rubber splicing tape for wiring, and thought it would be perfect for this application to provide a smooth surface for the Lomax front seal to seal against, I even waxed the outside of the tape to make it slippery. Worked fine for a few days, took the cover off and went to a self-service high pressure wand wash and the tape stayed on. But today it was fairly warm and sunny, and removing the cover it was stuck, I had to pull hard to get the seal lose from that rubber tape. Tape stayed, but I don't want it sticking like that.

Trial #2 (DON'T TRY THIS LOL, I DON"T KNOW HOW IT WORKS YET)
I realized whatever I used to cover the rough finished front rail under the rear window has to be very very slippery. I had some shiny wide HVAC foil tape on hand, so I removed the rubber tape and installed that. It's really thin, so you can still feel the rough finish slightly underneath, but it does smooth it out a decent amount, and its slippery. I also realized the front seal of the cover at the rear window fits up pretty far on top of the front rail, so this time I installed the tape further up on top and then folded it down over the vertical edge. With the cover on, the HVAC foil tape barely shows the way I placed it.

I will run it like this for a while and see how it does. If not satisfactory I will either find some wide slippery tape a little thicker or maybe put a double layer of the HVAC foil tape on it to make smoother where you don't feel any of the rough rail.

Hello Nick, I am new to the forum so a bit unfamiliar with correct protocall to message. I did not see a PM link anywhere.
Can you please send me a quote for a Lomax Trifold Tonneau cover for a 2020 Toyota Tacoma 6' bed. I am interested in the Black Matte finish. I am also a bit curious about the cover that will flip up and connect with a cab roof connector but I am not completely sold of the idea of a connector using self adhesive tape. Thank you Charlie
