That sucks, I'm sorry that happened. If I were prosecuting I'd hit him with everything I could. I'm old enough to have insurance that covers me that includes uninsured motorist, so on the things I worry about, it's low on the list. Not having to give myself a hernia lifting the boat onto the roof is worth it. If I take my boys out the lightest yak does ride on top, but my Tarpon 120 lives in the bed. Hell if I get hit that puts me one step closer to a new Hobie.

I just picked up a cheapo bed extender today so I can carry the Hobie back from Tennessee on Saturday, man I'm no pumped!

Also picked up a NRS Chinook based on some recommendations I got. Pupper for scale:

Blue Sky Boatworks Angler 360 made by Jackson Kayaks in Tennessee.

I bought it because it is a Kayak Bass Fishing (KBF) tournament approved kayak.

Fully rigged, it has a bow mounted MK PowerDrive 45# Trolling Motor with ProNav GPS/Anchor Lock and Navigation W wireless remote. Garmin 93SV+ Chartplotter paired with Gt34 Ultra High Definition down and side scanning transducer and a LVS32 Panoptix forward, down and perspective view Livescope. Remote controlled dual Power-pole Micro shallow water anchors. Several Lithium batteries for a total of 110 AHrs support the motor, electronics and shallow water anchors.

There are definitely idiots out there not pay attention and running into things. I was stopped at stop sign when a kid on his bike crashed into the side of my car (passenger door area) Dented the shit out of the door, roof and took out my mirror. He was looking the other direction and didn't notice he swerved off course. IDIOT.

Had a guy ride into my work truck while it was sitting still. Fell down and claimed massive injuries even though he had none at the ER at the time if the accident.
Yes it was fraud. Everyone knew it was fraud. But the insurance settled. Ever wonder why your insurance is so high?
By the way, we figured out we were targeted because of the company logo on the door. Removed them.

Happens every day. The professional fraudsters know that companies have really high insurance values. I was involved in an accident years ago that was my fault. I rear ended a car when we had to panic stop for a problem up ahead.

There was only the driver, and I took photos of his car and my truck. All that happened was a crack in paint on the bumper. Taillights in tact, no sheet metal damage. By the time the lawyer filed the suit there were two people in the car, both had massive injuries (but never went to the ER), and thousands of dollars of damage. They had pictures of the vehicle (without the plate showing) of crumpled & rusty sheet metal and busted taillights. Even though it was obviously fraud the insurance company paid because "it was cheaper to settle". Just for kicks we investigated on our own and found they were both illegal. I called ICE and supplied names and addresses.

Well, I got 1 big ass bass. He jumped a few times, I got him within 10 feet of the kayak and he snapped the line (8lb test mono) From what little I saw of him, he was a pretty big fish. Took my new jig and 4 inch creature bait too. I had 1 extra, so I tied that on and cast that out a few more times, but the light was pretty much gone at this point and I couldnt see anything other than the flash lights of the people fishing on the dock. So I headed back in.

Going to head out again this weekend, but not on the kayak, me, my son, and my dad are going to go dock fishing.

    That thing is a tank!

I saw your going to fish Wylie..
make sure you check out lake James in Marion. Killer LMB and smallies and tons of fishable shoreline off the 126 access.

    good luck!

I’ve heard Lake James is good! I’m going to try to get up there in a week or two.

We are moving to Lake Wylie, sounds like the bass fishing may not be amazing but lots of catfish?

I can’t attest I don’t catfish, i haven’t really fished much of Wylie, the access around my house stays really busy with boats and jet skis. I’m in the Belmont area.

First fish out of the new Kayak!!

After having the Outback, I see why it’s so popular. Carries all the gear(or wife) you need and still plenty maneuverable. I did 5 miles with the wife in the cargo area and it was a breeze. PA has its place but it’s soooo big, honestly seems like it would be tough for one person to handle.
