this battery is a few months old, optima yellow top. But I’m going to borrow a cable today and if that doesn’t work, I’ll swap the battery with the 4runners battery.

If your OBDII is fucked, loose pins or whatever, try to get the dealer to replace it? Say you were trying to run diagnostics and couldn't connect, had intermittent connection, whichever.

What is your file name? I recently had the same error as you trying to flash 1-05 89663 04A61.vft Swapped the file name to 89663 04A61 1-05.vft and had success. Not sure if it was coincidence. The program may need to see the calibration ID first thing in the file name to work?

the only thing I added was dump tubes to the end of it.

I tried one that wasn’t modified and the stock file

I have @DES2009 cable on the way to me.

    Going to try the following
    - different cable
    - different battery
    - go to Toyota and get a replacement OBD harness and swap it
    - put the truck on eBay

Did you try a different *USB* cable already? I've had some of them go bad before.

Maybe something simple overlooked like not turning off the entune screen or another accessory like blind spot monitor or parking backup sensors ? Try a different USB port on the computer ?

In the new version on vFtuner there is an option for dump tubes to get rid of CEL, whether or not a version of the tune will come out with im not sure, but I don't think so.

There's a section you can change gear ratios in.

@Tac0Tic0 - Just adding my suggestion with these comments. If you have any aftermarket ODBII like my Kenwood HU make sure that is disabled and also close the tune you are attempting to flash in VF before sending it. I had some combination of the above (or a fluke) and had the same error but it recovered once I ensured all that was not in the way. I hope you have the same fluke and these comments resolve it!

is there any way to increase/magnify the size of the plot? even with my glasses it's hard to see with everything smushed together. i have to rotate it around to see the labels and values.

I have not found any controls for that. The axis units also tend to run together.

What would be neat is some visualization and operations in a spreadsheet. Or, possibly a couple different smoothing profiles in vF. CTRL + I seems to be a straight interpolation of the boundary values.

yeah guys I appreciate the tips. I’ve flashed the truck several, several times. Since 1.01. I’ve double checked everything. Tried all the USB ports.

about to give this other tatrix connector a shot.

    @OVTune

Random question: What does the ECU do when it is between values on a map? I can see it interpolating or sticking with the closest value.

Also, the CC Speed setting does not seem to have an affect? First, I tried a value of 1 and then 10, hoping for a setting that I can use as low as 1st Gear around Idle. In both cases, 25mph (Stock) was still the lower bound. My main reasoning here, in the past, is school zones and those goofy, over-policed towns. Being able to get something between 10mph to 19mph CC would be killer.

    Thanks!
