Anyone get a new 4Runner recently, my fiancé’s been eyeballing them and because used is so close to the cost of new she’s thinking new.

Curious what people are paying?

she’s a nurse so needs 4wd just in case.

 

I put my wifey into one in 2016. She test drove it and fell in love right then and there. I want to say it was about $45k, I think Limited trim, and 4wd. She has been more confident driving I'm snow and ice ever since. It has also become our dog hauler, with back seats down, dog beds in for a base, then a futon mattress over the top. It does ride very smoothly, but about 45,000 miles in, tires are wearing unevenly, thinning out on the inside corner all around. It is all stock still.

 

Any word on a September meet up yet?

Thanks for sharing man. My dads wife didn’t like the ride so I was hoping that someone would provide this information. Weird about the tire wear. It sounds like the dealership may be overinflating it but hard to say if you have done chalk tests.

 

You can have my 16" one that has been sitting in my back yard for 2-3 years. It comes with the Rugged Fail on it though

I've got one for you too, 16x6.5, 8 lug with a tire from 1995 on it, still holding air.

I haven't done a chalk test. The uneven wear is about equal on both passenger and driver sides. What I might do is take it to Firestone and get the lifetime alignment for it, but that won't be until next summer before I get new tires.
Factory tires are the Dunlop AT20 in 265/70/17. Rear axle is linked and has coils, not leaf springs to hold things up.

 

Anyone have OEM style 2nd gen tail lights? The LED style? Busted my right one yesterday

 

Rock auto. I’ve ordered two RH CAPA certified ones that have been great.

 

Early pink ones? Or the newer redesigned style? I've got one good one of the early style, but I'll have to check on if it's the left or right that's good.

Just remember there’s different backspacing on those steel wheels if they’re the earlier 1st gen taco/3rd gen runner version. I believe the older gen have all round holes and the newer model Steelies have an oval hole by the valve stem

great to know. what size did you get? i was hoping for a 35 for a 17" rim. not offered at discount tire.
