Drove my '98 Tacoma, with cargo trailer and 5,000+ pounds of my furnishings, to try my luck at the MN State Fair in 2015. The day before the 12, 12 hour Fair days started, it was stolen.
After it was recovered, and about a year ago, I was able to get it transported back here in CA, by truck transport.
    Problem and 2 questions, Please.
(Since I am new to this, until I figure it out, I will post my questions here, AND on the Forum part)
The low life's that stole it, ripped the stereo out, and so I ordered a new, double din CD player, and (because I am almost 72), hired a kid to install it. Either he lost, or there was no upper bracket...but I had not noticed the fact that it was just "moused" up, on the top...until after he'd been paid and was gone.
I am wondering, if other than a junk yard, how I might find the bracket needed to straighten the top of the unit up...and keep it from falling back, into the dash?
#2. Since my Truck mostly sat for almost 5 years, (at my cousins small r[IMG] anch in MN), I am wondering about the Timing Belt. It only has about 50K on the replacement...but that was done in January of 2012. Beside the number of miles, does "time" also figure into how long they may last?
    Thank you MUCH

Back in the day there was not as wide a selection of aftermarket headunit retrofit kits. Actually, we are talking cassette and 8 track. I have built mounting brackets out of 1/4 inch plywood.

If it was my vehicle that sat for 5 years: I would replace belts, tires, just about anything rubber. I would also do a systematic change of all fluids.

Hit the junkyard or dealer for a factory radio bezel if you need it. I would change the belt if it was done in 2012. No telling how the guys who stole it drove it......
