10-4. It will be a while, as it is hard to get home for any length of real time and I want to build the Saturn V first.
I will post when I get it done.

Just got the “Your LEGO® order is on its way!” email for the Cantina.

Wasn’t expecting it so quickly! Need to develop a plan...

Agreed they messed up the joker on this one, but they may have wanted a different joker than the 1989 batmobile one :notsure:

yeah. But even the bat mobile one needs a pistol with a barrel 4x as long. I’ll just have to buy both sets and somehow make or find an elongated pistol!!

All this Batman talk motivated me to take a few pics of the Batmobile I finished a few days ago. This thing is massive! I'll definitely get the Batwing at some point.

After six weeks my bulk order finally arrived from Lego. Next up is sorting/inventory, then I'll finally be able to bring my second CAD ship into reality

That one and the batwing are definitely on the list since I found the Tumbler recently. Just wish I could get the bat pod but not for what the asking price for that one

    Nice!

    Is that a Pick-A-Brick order?

If so, how was the ordering process? How long to fulfill? Did they have everything you needed?

I got a ton of other questions about designing your own ship but I guess I’ll just boil it down to- how did you learn to use the software? and did you use Studio?

    Thanks in advance!

Good luck w the build :hattip:

Yes, it's a Pick-a-Brick (Bricks and Pieces) order. The process itself isn't bad if a bit tedious, particularly for large orders. Lego uses a different part cataloging/naming system than Bricklink; I found it easiest to have my Bricklink wishlist open so I could find the part number for each needed brick. Colors are also named differently as well; this page proved immensely useful. Lastly, I found that if you accidentally hit the back button when going to add a new part rather than clicking the "add another part" link then your entire cart is emptied. Just a warning.

I placed my order on August 10, it shipped September 7. They're shipped via DHL from somewhere in Europe with no tracking number provided. I personally don't think a two-week wait was all that bad, but I've seen posts on Eurobricks ranging from a couple weeks to nearly 40 days.

They had the majority of what I needed, though several parts were curiously less expensive on Bricklink, though you will pay more in shipping on the latter. Out of about 2800 parts, I ordered about 2060 through Pick-A-Brick and the rest through Bricklink. Shipping/tax was about $13, so if you don't mind waiting it can be very cost effective. The project I'm working on uses a large quantity of reddish brown bricks, and because of the issues a few years ago with that color being really brittle I wanted to get as much of that as possible new from Lego.

Yes I used Studio. I'm horrible at explaining how I started using it, but to me it feels similar to AutoCAD which I use fairly frequently for work. Figure out part catalog shortcuts to search for bricks and things can go pretty smoothly.

As far as the design of the ship itself? I don't know where to start. This is just what dripped out of my head.

Hopefully this is helpful. I'm still figuring some of this stuff out myself, but feel free to keep asking question!

Terrific info! Can’t thank you enough.

If work didn’t get in the way, I’d be a lot further along with these skills. Well, work, house projects, landscape project, car, truck ... I’m sure most understand..
