    Damage report. Fairly minor.

Tore up the “beauty rings” on the TRD Fakelocks:

Same. I backpack. Think 5 days living out of only the tent and gear on your back, hiking 15 mile days. I used to drag the wife along on these trips, back when she liked me more. Compared to that, my RTT is glamping to the max. Now when I ask to go camping, as long as it isn’t backpacking the wife is all about going. Is it necessary for weekend trips? Absolutely not. But when we drove west last summer for three weeks it really shined.
I know people who think a 25’ trailer with electricity and running water is roughing it and they’d never be able to camp in my RTT. It’s all relative. But I have a RTT and a fridge in my truck. 10 years ago if I met myself I’d have judged the hell out of me for being too soft. I expect nothing less from anyone else.

So what I'm trying say Rich, is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=802JKRamSRw

Whole family has llbean tents, my issue is dealing with the cots. We spend many nights in them, few music festivals, week plus up at Moosehead, and other stuff as it arrives. I don't want to Deal with those things for this type of trip. I want to be able to roll in some where at midnight, open up and go to sleep. We also want this for trips out west, and to get more 1 night adventures.

Sleeping pad and I have a 1 person I can literally setup in like 2 min if I wanted to.
I'm sure they make bigger sizes but I know the bigger you go the longer it takes to setup.

Holy shazz I’m kind of okay I didn’t make it. I am not gentle on my truck so I probably would have seen some body damage. o_O

that’s why I planned on the soft topper bed camping for my road trip but landed in just sleeping in the cab. Roll up, done. RTT is a few more steps but, roll up; 4 minutes and done. We’ll see how the winter goes, if I do a lot of cold weather stuff then an insulated RTT will probably be a better idea than cab camping.

this old body doesn't like the ground any more, and if I can’t move well the next day, what fun is that? If I had started this a few moons ago, tarp if it rains or to sleep on if it’s wet on the ground. Had a few nights of no shelter sleep. When we travel, I’ve slept in drivers seat for 3 or 4 hours if needed. But the next day sucks.

Yes, I don’t want to say winter camping yet (that might be solo trips) but We will get more fall and spring camping in the NMWs and other areas with a RTT.

Nice! You are looking at or have, not sure, an RTT.
I agree though as I get older sleeping on the ground isn't the best.
But they do make pills for this:bananadance:

HOLY SHIT. You guys got stock trucks through that? Good on all around, drivers and spotters combined.

I’ve slept in my soft shell RTT down to -8°f without the insulation for the tent and was just fine.

I sleep just as good in my RTT as I do in my bed at home. Even if I’m super exhausted I don’t sleep that well on the ground. I manage, but it’s far more sustainable for me off the ground.

there was a bypass around the mud hole that the rest of us took around.

I just don’t get the RTT thing for anything but a dedicated trail/overland rig. My truck does work truck stuff 5 days a week and I can’t imagine dragging that thing off my roof is easier than setting up my 8 person cabin tent. Moot point for me though with a wife and 3 kids. I would need two RTTs do fit us. Plus camping with kids is such a shit show, there is no such thing as hanging out by the fire with a beer and no pants.
