Well I found the best looking wheel I think I've ever seen and it turns out that I might not be able to use it. The rim comes in a 16x7 and a 16x8 size and has a 5'' back spacing. From what I've been advised, the 2003 taco's cannot use a 5'' back spacing but a 4'' back spacing. Can this be true? Not saying I don't believe my source, but just looking for some second opinions or other alternatives, if any.

    This is the rim:

And it can be found here:

Does anyone know a like wheel that can fit my truck or anyway I can make this one fit? Looking for a matte finish and preferably beadlock. Thanks for any and all assistance provided.

    Sincerely,
A fellow taco owner in dire need

I have cragar soft 8's, 16x8 with 5" backspacing, but I have 1.25 spacers and it fits perfect. I didn't try to put them on without the spacers though. The reason they say that they won't fit is because steel wheels are stamped and the lips on the back of the holes will sometimes rub the caliper.

I know there are some spacers that have studs on them, but has anyone had experience with, let's say, arp stud replacements to replacement the existing studs with stronger and longer studs to aid in the spacers that do not have studs on them?

not beadlocks, but for 103 dollars a wheel i think they are the best looking wheel out there. raceline renegade 16's. personally, i'd stay away from wheel spacers at all cost!

you may rub at full lock on your frame with 5'' bs. stock wheels on the 1st gens are 4.5'' but there are some boys on here with 2nd gen wheels on their trucks and theyre 5.5'' bs IIRC.

also i think beadlocks are illegal to run on the road but maybe thats just here in Canada.

Its illegal everywhere. It just isn't inforced very much because most cops don't know what a beadlock is. There are road legal beadlocks but they are extremely expensive. Those that the OP posted look like the simulated beadlocks anyway, but they might be real.

If that is true that the stockers are only 4.5" back spacing. 5" could work with some tlc. I'll pull the rim off and measure this weekend.

Definately trying to stay away from spacers especially since the rims are steel and the larger tires. However, the stronger slightly longer stud/lug replacements might be workable. Still trying to figure out an answer.

I'm not to sure if they are true or not, finding that out, but with that I heard that true bead locks are insanely difficult to balance. Anyone have any experience with this? Any experience balancing fake ones?

The price on those rims I posted are 122$ a rim so I'm thinking that they aren't true beadlock.

true beadlocks are meant for hardcore offroading. guessing this is not you! fakes will obviously be harder to balance than standard rims, and IMO look silly on a street truck. i'm betting those wheels you're looking at are "street locks" (fake beadlocks).

these are H1 military issue double beadlock rims with run flats in them with custom laser cut naked lady rings, a bit more extreme than what you're looking at but shows what a tire with about 10 lbs of pressure looks like wrinkled up.

im running cragar 15x8s and i just use wheel spacers. gives a nice stance/look with the offset. get the rims if you like them, just make sure you get spacers too.

Real beadlocks are hard to balance because you have to center the tire perfect before locking it down, which is hard to do. Some offroad shops can balance a beadlock but from what I've read it will never be perfect. I would think that balancing a fake beadlock would be just like balancing a regular rim. The tire mounts on the rim the same way, so as long as the rim is true then it should balance the same.

Yeah, I was thinking the same. Good for me that they are immitation beads then on the said rim. Just need to find a fix to the 5'' backspacing now.
