Here's a pretty good looking mid rise cap for a 2nd gen long bed double or access cab in southern Maryland area I came across for $300. This would be hard to find in a search because it's not labeled for a taco but the pics show it on a second gen.

Well, my Tundra and my 4R were both MGM. It's a great color. I don't think color matched would look bad but to save a buck black or even red wouldn't look bad on there either. Black is just easier because you can do it yourself. If you have black armor, or wheels, then it certainly ties it all together. My wife and I are a team. Have been since 83'. She backs me on any decision and she was willing to let me have it painted. She even helped sand the cap to prep it for the bedliner paint. Then one day I was out and a guy had a Voodoo Blue SB and had either a Leer 122 or ARE MX and it was color matched. I love the blue, but even to me it was just too damn much. Maybe with a Prinsu up on it It would help but it was just too much blue.

I don't regret anything. As a matter of fact, I am on the lookout for a complete rear door for mine. That would make it the ultimate cap. I'm also going to work out a way to make it so I can an electronic locking device. I know caps come with them. I just need to figure it out.

 

I have the matte black 4R pro rims, and a black softopper now.

 

That's an excellent deal there! Just beware, 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen caps, or tonneaus are not cross-compatible.

 

Yea, I know. Why I brought it up. Black would be perfect. When I had the Softopper on mine I liked it a lot. Hell, the original white looked really good and the wife wanted me to keep it because it reminded her of the 78' Bronco I had when we first got together, which was blue and white.

I even took all the windows out/off to do this right. I redid the screens too in the side windows.

If anybody spots/has a full suspension off a 3rd gen out there in the wild, I'd love to know about it. The stock setup on my new-to me 2nd's hammered, and has to go (and I'm too new to TW to post in the sales forum). Thanks for helping scout!

I am. Coppying off of @Taco critter. He made himself one, and I forgot I had that swing up hitch from when I had my 4R, so I picked up a section of square tube, and a wheel bracket and my neighbor is gonna weld it up for me.
