Okay, I know I posted recently, but WOW!! Fantastic night. This little shit has been fighting me from day one. I’ve read that I need to get her to WANT to work for me. It worked. A month ago, I worked on “down” for DAYS. Nada. No hint at it. 5 min tonight and she has it down!! She whines like crazy, but she does it!!! EVERY TIME!!

Also, I have a 4 year old daughter, maligators bite HARD. I’ve been working with her on putting something in Willow’s mouth if she starts biting her. Tonight, willow jumps on the couch and bites her hand. Kiddo looks at me in pain. “WHAT DO YOU DO!!?!?” I said. She grabs a pillow and shoves it in her mouth!!! WIN!!!

Proud daddy tonight. Willow is HUGE!!! I found a pic of the first day I got her vs today. Just insane!

Be careful with the pillow thing or you're gonna come home and find the pillow stuffing every where.
Normally, I'd say make a fist and shove it in their mouth or curl a bit of the lip over those sharp teeth and pinch. BUT, Mali and a kid.

oh 100%!! Willow is in a crate when I can’t watch her. And as far as fist is concerned. I used that tonight. With my kiddo being so little, it really is just “find the closest thing you have and get it in her mouth”

    my hand from her mouth

Pepper of some sort on the hand and let the dog bite it. He’ll change his mind. Just remember to wash up before going to the bathroom.

I had a Rottweiler when I was younger and when she was a puppy we tried everything to keep her from putting teeth on us. Ended up being the best dog I’ve ever had.

Same with my Rotten Shepard. He loves to grab with his mouth but has learned to be more gentle. Most lovable dog I've had in 50 years.

Yep. Rottweiler is an awesome dog and mixed with a shepherd I’m sure it’s probably even better. Mine lived only about 8 years when her stomach flipped. Best dog ever. My golden is still a puppy but I’m pretty sure he’s going to be right up there.

When my Lab was a pup I couldn’t stop her from biting. My wife and I had constant bleeding on our hands and arms. I bought a product, Bitter Apple, that when sprayed on your arms was guaranteed to stop dogs from biting. I sprayed it on my arm and stuck it out to my dog. She smelled my arm, looked at me, and took the largest bite she had ever taken on my arm. My wife said she must have thought it was a condiment. She eventually grew out of it.

Yea my dad used that on his dobermans. They get wounds and constantly mess with them so they don’t heal. Kind of worked with them
