Like any electrical equipment, motors do have leakage current. Leakage current is the current flowing from live parts of the equipment to earth though insulation.

I've heard it's a fun week long project if you're up for it and a certified mechanic.

On the outside! The commercials say it stops leaks, I'm thinking of just buying some, maybe build a fishing boat out of chicken wire!

I don't think the mods like sarcasm. They are pretty heavy handed around here. Be careful.

The site is supposed to be love and peace and there will be no mocking of anyone who talks about their front motor.

Language usage is always changing, and sometimes interchangeable:

    Honda Motor Company
    Ford Motor Company
    GM
    Nissan Motor Corp.
    Toyota Motor Credit........

Tell your friend they’re called a motorcycle or motorboats, not an enginecycle or engineboats!

    From 1968:
    Get your motor runnin’
    Head out on the highway
    Lookin’ for adventure.......

An internal combustion engine is a motor under most definitions of motor. Not sure why people try to pretend it isn't.

I mean, if we're trying to get picky or be snobby engineers we would try to avoid ambiguity or whatever, but in common English both words mean the same thing.

I agree. When someone says “my motor wouldn’t start this morning” the first thing that comes to mind isn’t “did you pay your power bill?” :D

Any excuse not to do the work unless the customer is literally calling it out. Maybe a few stealership service centers are decent and would, but most I know of (including the one I worked at as a salesperson) wouldn’t bother telling you unless they knew they could cash out on warranty work/worth their time.

They’re there to make money, helping you discover problems is secondary - if at all.

And no hate on them btw, those folks have their higher upper breathing down their fucking throats all week long telling them to keep peoples asses moving through, saw it first hand. Doesn’t change the fact that you’ll have to bother the hell out of them (politely) if you want a problem addressed and fixed that may have noticed but doesn’t benefit them to tell you.
