Thanks man! And oh I did. They gave me a full refund. If not I would have lost it. Not sure how it took that long anyway, it was annoying to say the least. I think the harness came with the diode

Funny part is they changed the harness setup but the instructions still reference the old one. took a bit of figure things out. It does mentioned the diode deal but have not run into that issue and my setup was way different. I thought it was funny they added a new setup but never updated the manual pictures.

yah my buddy was pretty annoyed they ddi not install it. Hopefully you enjoyed the trip at least. Prob a long ride home breaking them in but that trip alone completed it easily.

Yeah I was expecting them to but I never asked prior, so that’s on me. And yeah, we are currently at Hermosa beach enjoying some drinks. Had planned on getting here around 4 pm but that damn Recon place screwed us... Also the fires/smoke was unexpected. 2020 is terrible lol

Flyback diode for the back EMF when the current is shut off to the solenoid which is an inductive load. Without it it's very possible to fry items in the circuit randomly.

99% chance OP's problem is the diode. It should be reverse biased with respect to the polarity at the locker. If it's forward biased you have a short and thus blown fuses and fried diodes.

Again, it's in the manual posted in the thread already referenced.

I'm feeling generous today. It should be like this. It's that easy. If you blow fuses, diodes, etc. that should immediately make you think you have a short.

If you know colors and can match a symbol you can get this right. That's all this requires.

Huge thanks to @hx989 , my locker is up and running! Not sure what that shop was doing but the new harness works fine. Excited to try it out
