I'm 99.5% sure from memory I tapped this one for my switchpro that needed an ignition on fuse. Should be EFI 1 or 2 if I remember.

Well I tried to discourage the use of that one like the crucified n killed a post I had due to it tied into the fuel pump check after off. So if you leave the switch on to the modification, it'll energize and have the neighbors and what not calling you that the lights came on by themselves and many other stories...so go for it.

This is true. All who mod be warned. My switchpro interior panel backlights every so often because of that.

I think the relay will be in the way for the add-a-circuit, the other way might not allow the cover to close...

I believe most are using the add a circuit in the fuse panel under the steering wheel.

Just throwing this out there for anyone, but I just added a separate wire harness to the fogs since I needed a relay for my lighted switch to work property. It was pretty cheap. Now they can come on even with out the keys in the ignition.

My truck is a '13, so my fog light relay is in the separate smaller fuse box mounted next to the main one. I found two empty spots that do have 12v clips but they're hot all the time. While I'm sure I wouldn't forget the fogs were on, I like the idea that once the key is off they are as well.

Yep sorry I see that this is a different method then what I was thinking. Yeah in a lighted parking lot I have forgotten running into the store, but its nice when camping and you need a quick light without the keys.

Yes, that was one of the 12v spots I have as well but it's not keyed. If all else fails, I'll use it. I'm curious why you didn't just depin the oem wire out of the relay, instead of having to add all those spades?

That picture is from @ChadsPride anytime fog mod, he has a newer truck and has that smaller relay box that I don’t on my 08.

This is mine, I bent the one tab over and used an add a circuit. No permanent changes made, if you want to reverse it just put another relay in

    3A695B1A-753D-4030-99B4-F46661EC71C0.jpg

And I didn’t de-pin the terminal since I didn’t feel like opening up my fuse box to do it. This was easier

Slowly bent the silver pin out 90*

There's only one disadvantage to using a circuit that is always hot. If you forget to turn your fog light switch off, the fog lights will stay on even after you turn the ignition off and remove the key. That's why it is probably best to use an ignition or accessory switched hot.

I agree with you completely, most people would forget to turn it off.

I’ve forgotten to turn mine off a couple times:anonymous:

Exactly why I don't want to do it that way. :) I'm just having trouble finding switched options....

Any idea whether this would work on a 2011 4x4 model?

You forgot to cut the wire going to the fog relay terminal that you joined to the inverter ign source. Do not forget to insulate the cut ends.
