    There is usually some. I can't explain it well enough to make sense. Basically if there is a difference in commanded afr and wide band measured afr- than some maf error is the usual suspect.
    Say your truck is commanding 11.5afr but you see 10.5afr. That would indicate at that voltage on your maf sensor it is off some. So in that case you need to drop the number that correlates to that maf voltage node to correct the error.
    In the example above- you would have false high maf numbers.
    That's the best explanation I can give. I'll let Justin take it from there

    He's using the TRD FJ intake and the factory FJ MAF data with some airflow added on the top end. It's probably a little bit higher than actual, but I can't say exactly how much it's off as I don't have a any wideband data streaming in the log, and we're also working with methanol injection which is messing with how his wideband is interpreting his AFR as it's calibrated for a 14.7:1 stoich value and he's got 'some' mixture of gas, methanol and likely some degree of ethanol as part of the gas mixture. Each with a different stoich value its difficult to determine/calculate exactly what the ACTUAL lambda value of the combustion events are as I have no way of knowing the volume of methanol or ethanol content in relation to the gasoline volume that's being injected.

    In short these values should not be counted as hard numbers, but rather representative as the MAF housing and MAF data are pretty close to stock with most of the "error" being attributed to the inability to accurately account for the actual stoich ratio of the sum of all fuels used. :p

    Good deal. What was that relative MAF to brake HP multiplier again? 1.12?

    Also, how's the tuning on the turbo truck going?

    Pretty sure he had an unintentional vacuum "leak" caused by hose routing or check valve?

    I'm not a huge supporter of of the MAF g/sec multiplier for HP, I did a little "testing" of those multipliers when I dyno'd my Mustang. It was 'ballpark' accurate..

    On @MrMuse truck? I had some crazy fueling errors present in his setup that were not able to be accounted for. At first I thought maybe he had different injectors than he thought, but we confirmed they are the SD 60lb/hr that URD resells. So I knew the data on those from others who've run them in the past. MAF data was taken from another custom Turbo setup which uses a 3" ID housing that is known to well configured, yet our Fuel trims were 50%. No possible way the MAF or injector data was THAT far off. Each custom MAF setup will take a little tweaking in the neighborhood of 5-10% error assuming the same ID, just due to difference in how the airflow crosses the hot-wire in the MAF from placement of bends, BOV's, distance to and from thottle body/intercooler etc, etc.

    When I see large errors in fueling that cannot be accounted for, I like to go back to a known baseline which can allow users to troubleshoot and eliminate variables. This is especially important for me to get the tune properly dialed, as many of the trucks I do I never see them or have a hand in building them, so mechanical issues or installation error is something I need to rule out before attempting to tune around the issue(s) to bandaid the problem.

    Last we spoke I had asked him to go back to a "known" setup (intake/fuel injectors) with a stock data in the tune. If he's found a mechanical/installation issue that would likely explain the severe discrepancy in the airflow/fueling we were dealing with. I haven't heard back from him since I suggested going back to a known setup to troubleshoot the errors source.

    Correct. He had jumped in the Turbo B.S. thread. Historically, most people adding turbos to the 1GR, get the vacuum hose routing wrong initially. Cannot leave it in stock form. Adaptations from stock form then can potentially cause worse problems. So that is where I direct the first questions in response to their operational issues.

    Quick question for my boosted brethren, do any of you know wtf the box circled is? Somehow the other breather hose that connects to the red arrow got broken off. I have no clue what this contraption is for as my 2014 doesn’t have it. Hoping when some of yall changed your fuel pump you might have seen one and what is it hooked up to?
