100% bolt on rear spring hangers and high clearance u bolt plates. This setup is for the 62” Deaver springs that pull 18-19” travel.

working on the shackle reversal as we speak. The front hangers are clocked to push the rear of the spring completely outside of the frame in order to run 7-9” shackles without the typical low hanging shackle mounts. The lowest part of the rear will now be the springs rather than the low hanging, boat anchor shackle mount drops that everyone always does.

Double uniball shackles

I like that but at the same time question how that works. Isn't there, shouldn't there be some movement? I know the lower is on a bushing but that's not allowing for much flex. Yeah, I know not a rock crawling flexer, but neither is my truck but some of the race courses I've been on, or Moab even, calls for some flexing.

 

The springs by design allow for all the flex... the bushings do not unless they are worn out

 

My question is why double uniball? I think what Y2kbaja is asking. If double uniball with a single bolt thru them the bolt would just keep them aligned eliminating the rotation uniballs provide. Or is just to provide as little friction as possible allowing shackle to pivot as freely as possible?

 

No, I'm asking about the lack of flex from the double uniball. It just seems that there should be allowed some flex or something is going to flex (crack). Just my opinion. I have cracks in places that doesn't seem possible.

 

If you just use one uniball the shackle will move side to side which you don’t want. The double uniball eliminates this. The uniballs are also much more durable than bushings and don’t squeak

 

Again the springs flex not the bushings. This is a design that we have used for 20yrs in the McPherson 7s truck we built. If you are relying on sloppy bushings to prevent cracking I’d reevaluate your design

 

Makes sense! Can’t wait to see how it’ll turn out when you mount the shocks and bumps. Is all staying under the bed or will you cut the bed?

 

Yes... 14” 3.0 bypass shocks will be completely under the bed, axle bumps out on the frame and will cycle 18”
