@ecgreen let me know if you have any interest in the electric pole sections. They're roughly 6' in length, I have 6 that are 'accessible' and 1 that's down a hill that could be recovered with enough umph and determination. If you're interested, I'll get photos and make sure none of them are rotted. I haven't had a reason to look them over in a while. They're stacked but a couple are on the ground that could be suspect. I would need some help getting them out also, they have to go through a 3' gate and up a slight hill to get them to my driveway. I can't lift and drag them through the gate and up the hill on my own.

It was bad when I moved in that's for sure went from burning 6+ cords a winter to only 4 now.
I'm actually touching up some spots in our attic crawl space but to be honest I want it all ripped out and have insulation blown in.
    1 of these days...

I burn between 4-6, depending on the winter, even though the house is fairly well insulated. But it's 2200 square feet and I keep it around 72 because the girlfriend complains if it's any cooler. It's easier to just put up an extra cord or two & wear t-shirts all winter than it is to deal with 6 months of complaining :frusty:

I still get the icicle hands and feet on my back, though.

    Green ones are PT.
brown ones have nasty creo. Used to get chemical burns in the Summer when I used to chainsaw them up in the air.

When i started my job, there was still a few Cedar and American Chestnut poles in the field.
Those were very burnable, although many guys saved the Chestnut. One guy had his fireplace mantle done in chestnut and another made a display case for a pair of flintlock dueling pistols.
Last chestnut pole i worked on was about 10 years ago, when we pulled the butt out of the ground, there was no rot at all and not buggy, and the tag had a 1933 date.
Beautiful wood. I still have some pieces stored in my shed.

I usually burn a little less than a cord a year for "fun" burning. 1200 sq ft house, I usually do them after work about, I don't know, 40% of the time? And then most weekends.

Would love a glass front wood stove I can shove into my fireplace, get more heat and still get the feel of the fire. But I'm not going to fuss over it this year especially, maybe in the future.

We have been running a wood stove insert.
Works great has a blower to move the heat and can cook some stuff on top.
    I really wanted 1 like @Noelie84 has but I don't have the room.:anonymous:

But man you can cook a giant pot of stew on his!

Which one? They'll both boil my 20 quart stock pot with no problems. When I'm making soup stock during the winter I'll perch it on the back (coldest) corners with part of it hanging off the stove and it'll still simmer pretty enthusiastically.

I tell my girlfriend her blood must contain refrigerant. I don't understand how her hands seem to be colder than anything else in the house.

The icy hands and feet are unavoidable.. It's a test of our true love

Also, we keep our house between 59 and 63 (LPG forced hot air), using the wood stove to supplement when necessary :anonymous: :spy:

Wish i had a place for either wood or pellet stove in our place. Especially the past few years when heating oil was like $4.5/gallon.

As I've suggested to @Pugga.. Steel oil barrels are cheap, and a fun activity for the whole family! Crack a window, burn some old news paper, and have yourselves a grand old time!*

Raynaud's syndrome. My wife was diagnosed with it last year. Her hands and feet will go numb when it's like 50* out

Hello everyone just got back here in Vermont/ New Hampshire. I need to get some work done on my truck and I need to do some Fab before that first snow storm comes. Any suggestions on a shop would be greatly appreciated. I’m currently in Lebanon. I’ve attempted to contact performance unlimited multiple times but have not gotten a response so I’m looking elsewhere. Thanks in advance for the shop ideas

It is super awesome let me tell you. I'm on medication for it which helps some.

I would always take screenshots of my weather app when I took these pictures. This is 57 degrees a couple years ago. It all seemed to start when I was stationed in Alaska.

I had that happen to one of my fingers twice during the winter several years ago. I was wearing gloves and felt the numb/tingling sensation. My finger was completely white like that. Hasn't happened again in over 5 years :notsure:
