Yea. Been knowing Ban for about 20 years now. We used to shoot action pistol matches together back in the day. He stopped going to the matches and our rifle club meetings so lost touch with him for a long time until I did a Shivworks course in 2014 and ran into him again. Didn't even know he started making knives. Top-notch dude and the nicest guy but definitely not the kind of guy you want to tangle with. Probably one of the few knifemakers on the defensive end of things that absolutely knows his business and his craft reflects it.

That's awesome. I'm over on Bladeforums as well and have seen his work there. Excellent knife maker!

I'm a sucker for blue as it is. And as you mentioned the chef only made sense for what I wanted. I hope I like it as much as I want to like it

I hope you'll love it more than you'll want to like it lol. From what I've read, some folks love it, but dislike the thin handle profile. But it doesn't bother me. It's a great slicer/user minus if you're not prying stuff. And the spydie hole doesn't have a whole lot of comfort compared to other models. But I still own two

That blade uses some interesting steel. I go between a Giant Mouse (same one as yours) and a Spiderco Para 3. It's so hard to choose with one. I will say I have not had to sharpen the GM once.

Keep the wire or swap for one of these from LynchNW? The play in the wire is going to continue to scratch the blue finish but I do like the wire.....PXL_20200922_234055919.jpg

Lynch clip, maybe blue. Usually put them on knives myself.
