That’s a hell of a drive to make it out here, and I think Canadian plates are more welcome in New England than my NY ones.

What is wheeling like in NS? Sounds like that could be an awesome trip someday when American passports are valid again.

Wheeling in Nova Scotia is sort of a mixed bag. I could take you to trails that are basically dirt roads that lead to nice camping spots with great scenery, or I could take you to trails similar to what you are dealing with in this thread... I know some truly muddy trails that are passable stock but you can get stuck pretty bad... I know trails that only rock bouncers dare to travel. I know one trail that leads to a reservoir but the road keeps going out into the reservoir and apparently if you know where it goes you can make it across with a stock rig and on the other side the trail gets really fun I have heard but not knowing what route the 'road' takes through the water I don't have the balls to try it! lol I know some trails (actually abandoned roads that are still public land) where you can go for 60 miles or more with tons of sidetracks that I have yet to explore but the main trail takes you to some neat spots. Nova Scotia is called the land of lakes and rivers or some such so there are a ton of lakes where you can go camp etc, fishing is ok but you're probably not going to set any record fish unless you head to the Bras D'or lakes in Cape breton... Basically I try to get out into the woods every weekend and I love exploring so I just use Google Earth, find things that look interesting and go see if I can get the truck back to them or not :)

And for me the drive is a big part of the fun! Plus meeting new people with similar interests... I'm thinking if the border is back to normal by next summer I may take a trip down for a weekend of wheeling sometime just to meet some people and go for an adventure!

I've also been considering a month or so long vacation down that way to explore trails and eat amazing BBQ as I travel across the country to visit my bro in San Diego and then travel back a different route to explore different trails etc :) Even have a friend with a Tacoma who may also be interested in a trip like this! We'll see if time and money permits! :)

Keep your eye out for a trip to the northern maine woods hosted by @Arcticelf it's sort of a "meet in the middle" for you. It's mostly dirt tracks/logging roads. Might be a closer trip than coming down to southern VT/NH.

I wish I had the time on my hands to do stuff like that (kids, works, etc). The day my youngest graduates from high school I’m buying a RTT. Keep and eye out, usually right around early September we do a camping trip out in the Cape Cod sand dunes.

NS to SD....Wow. I did RI to Texas, that was a good trip.

    A few recommendations:
    1. Give yourself time. I didn't get to "see" the country, but that was sort of the point. I got to see the country I could see, that I couldn't otherwise (2 weeks off work). I didn't stop to walk around everywhere I went, etc etc. NS to SD is a hell of a trip, don't cram it too much.
    2. Don't go too hard on the trails. If you're in the middle of Utah, it's a hell of a tow to get your truck back to NS :)
    3. .... lemme know if it happens.....:spy:

But, let me know if you do come down for a shorter trip too. I can set up a few routes up/down through NH and/or Maine for a couple days too.

    Other recommendations:
BBQ: St Louis, and Kansas City MO are go tos. However. I skipped those both and went to the Ozark national forest instead, SOOOOOO worth it. Isn't enough BBQ in the world I would trade for taking that route instead. Indianapolis: Deep fried pork loin sandwich, from the Steer-In. Ohio: The northern section of Ohio along Lake Erie (Put In Bay, Huron, etc) are a hell of a trip. Good in the summer, DON'T sleep on northern ohio! Toledo was cool, too. Blew my mind. Niagara falls - Better from the Canadian side. Austin, TX: GO. And get Brown's BBQ, only deal with Franklin if there's no wait, it's good but with how good other BBQ is around the area, I'm not sitting in line for 4 hours when I can get Brown's and then do something else. Take the hills country tourist route - go from San Antonio and head north, the route going North you come around and a bend and the view is spectacular, go from SA and then head around clockwise toward Austin. It's sort of a double back but worth it. Float the Frio if things are open (I mean hell, it's Texas....It was open when I was there in July, it'll be wide open next year).

If do choose to.... Sucker Pond and Old Florida Road (Oak turn for the locals) are only 20 - 30 minutes apart. Both have been in the magazines at various points in time...

Is Old Florida Road another trail? How similar is it to Sucker Pond?

    SO WHEN ARE WE GOING?

Any chance it's more mud and fewer rocks?
