Ok, I suppose this was a rather dumb topic, but oh well, it's too late to turn back.

    1. Next time your honda "friend" disses your truck's automatic transmission ask him what a pro-level civic drag car has between the engine and the wheels, i bet it's not a 5 speed. if he still needs persuasion suggest a tug-o-war. Go ahead and strap to his rear axle and pull it out from under his ignorant ass.

    2. Oh god. . . the ranger issue. ask him why rangers are so cheap, or mention how you paid for quality so you wouldn't have to pour so much time and money into your truck.

I love manuals because you pick your gear for the situation, HOWEVER, almost all 12 and under drags cars are autos because humans cannot shift nearly as fast as an auto...

I'm a fan of laughing in their faces and walking away, muttering "Ford? HA!"
Autos are superior in some aspects and inferior in others. I can fix a manual with only one or two specialty tools, and my brakes last forever. Autos have better low range torque because of the intermediate rotor in the torque converter, and they can shift faster while keeping engine revs high. It's all about what you want. He obviously wants to be a jackass;)

If you have to post the question on an internet forum, you probably should just keep quiet.
