Took Athena to her first follow up appointment since going to the E-vet, next Friday she’ll go back for an X-Ray and if it looks as expected the following week she will go to a soft cast and the week after that she will have no cast.
She’s running around like it doesn’t bother her at all, she jumped into the back of the SUV to go to the appointment but I picked her up and put her in for the ride home because of the incline I was on, she wasn’t thrilled with being picked up.

Took a quick trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan last weekend, took the pups for a hike to see Canyon Falls:

Man, those pics bring back so many memories. I’m originally from MI but now live in LA. My great grandparents had their house in a small town called Trout Lake in the UP. Spent a lot of time up there in the summers and winters. Such beautiful and peaceful scenery. Need to get back and visit the family and head up there again.

i don’t think the pics do that place justice. With all the trips I’ve taken to the UP, never stopped at Canyon Falls. Already planning to go back... My family has run a resort in Rapid River for 40+ years, been visiting at least once a year since I was a kid.

I’ve never made it out that far west. I think the furthest I’ve gone is Newberry on a snowmobiling trip. I’d love to drive back and do some adventuring up that way and see more of it.

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
Our rescue mutt wanted to bite when and always. To the point of regret. What I did is take a small, SMALL, amount of peanut butter and put it on the back/side of my hand. I let her lick and I said "nice" and gently pet her. It worked rather quickly, and still to this day when she gets feisty. Now I trust her enough to lay teeth on me, but don't condone it. Back then I did NOT! I'm sure some of it came with age, but she responded very well to that conditioning. She's a staff mix, not a Mal, but if Willow is food motivated, it may help.

And now 7 hours later we’re back at the vet because she decided she wasn’t going to wear the splint any longer... :annoyed: I swear this dog is just as hardheaded as I am.

    To many, but never done
    All this biting...
I'm having problems getting punched in the face with my new pup:rofl:
I have a gouge on my face and have gotten 2 fat lips.
I gotta say though I've never seen a dog this talented with his hands.
I don't know if he will pull it off but I'm trying to teach him to palm a tennis ball.
He is close but I don't know how to teach the lift concept, I've never tried teaching this before.

She had one, I took it off after one day, she could barely turn around in her crate and she was constantly running into walls and other stuff.
She didn’t bother it for 9 days, only after the vet stuck her fingers in the splint at the vet visit did she fool with it. I’m not sure if she pulled it off, her brother pulled it off, or if she just ran out of it, there weren’t any bite/chew marks on it and the wrap was all in good shape.

Maybe with cone a slight sedation she could sleep out of the crate for a week or so?

We’re gonna keep her crated while we’re at work, she’ll sleep on my bed, and she’ll have roam of the house (but not outside) while we’re home.
The vet also gave us a sedative that’s supposed to knock her down a notch or two but I haven’t noticed a whole lot of difference.
This is where she’s been for the last hour.
