I had one of the kids pick out a bottle and she picked Willett. She said the bottle looked like a hookah.

How do you like that? I’ve seen GB mentioned about 87 times and am curious.

When I first tried it about 10 years ago or so, I hated it. Tried it again last year and was impressed. Sometimes a bottle can taste "immature", but for the most part, it is excellent. It really improves when you let it breathe a bit. I think I need to get a decanter. It's one of my top 5 faves.

Haven't tried the single barrel yet though.

Do you know what the mash bill is? Or maybe can tell if it’s a low or high rye?

One of my favorites that can be found here in SOCAL is Balcones Texas Single Malt. I enjoy the higher alcohol bourbons. In second place, again because it is easy to buy is Jack Daniels Single Barrel Barrel Proof. IMG_2545[2948].jpg IMG_2546[2947].jpg IMG_2546[2947].jpg

That’s a good lineup there. My local store has a Balcones Single barrel pick that I’ve been eyeing, but have never had anything from them

Opened a EC toasted barrel last night, really enjoyed it, super marshmallow with some oak and spice. Really good pour, excited to let it rest

First bottle of this stuff. Not bad at all for 40 bucks. Will keep it in the rotation.

Been a while on this guy. I think it lost a lot of its appeal after sitting. The nose is very faint, not strong enough to pick anything up. The initial taste is very lackluster, with no build up to this like heavy hitting scotch and Fred Noe love child that doesn’t actually last.
Sounds like I’ll be pouring some Bookers Country Ham next

What is your favorite whiskey accessories? Is there anything that enhances your tasting or experience? For me I rotate my favorite glassware and crystal clear ice. I want to try an aerator to see if that does open up any new flavors that I couldn’t pick out before.

More hilarious than useful, I keep the cheap stuff in it.
