I think I’m going to go that route, but will probably fab something up if I can’t find a solid flip up one on fleabay. Any pictures of it open?

 

I don't have a direct picture of the license flipped up. I do have one with my drop hitch and trailer attached to it though. I gained almost 9" of clearance in the rear with this bumper.

Thats an aftermarket light and yes we are required to have a tag light in Alabama. It was like $12 from Amazon. It’s bright and lights up the whole plate.

Yeah no thanks to that. I have to haul a trailer and equipment too much. I leave my trailer hitch on 365 days a year.

 

be careful doing that all the time. The rear section of the Tacoma frame is relatively weak. A trailer hitch acts as a lever to bend the frame if you are rear ended.

 

I haul a trailer every weekend with a riding lawnmower, 2 push mowers, some weed eaters and some blowers. I had to get a 10” drop hitch so my trailer doesn’t ride nose high. I love this bumper.

 

I saw where you are going to the Grand Tetons soon? If you are, I’m jealous! I’ve hiked around Yosemite, but want to visit the Rockies and the Tetons.

 

yessir! It was a spur of the moment trip. Leaving in a couple weeks and will be there for about a week. Will do half in Yellowstone and half at Grand Teton.

 

My boss owns 500 acres at the bottom of the Tetons and it’s a beautiful place! Hoping I can go out here and hunt some Mulies one day.

 

I tow within the tow ratings. If the truck can’t handle it I’ll get a new truck.

Thanks, I’ve been pleased with it! Tows like a champ, and you gain a ton of clearance in the rear. No more dragging my hitch when off roading anymore!

 

That’s a future mod for me. I bent one of my hitch supports last time we did TNF.

 

My 2nd gen bumper and hitch was scraped everywhere I went. That's why I got a bumper for my 3rd gen so that wouldn't happen anymore.
