SR5 heated seat wiring- please help

    I have searched this and can't seem to find an answer. I am wanting to wire in the seat heaters I got from Amazon. I think I can do this by using an "add a fuse", but where in fuse box?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    It’s above the dead petal if you have an automatic. If you have a Manual above the clutch. It’s tiny. Use the power window fuse. And make sure you have an add a circuit with thick enough gauge wire for the circuit load. They make 20 amp add a circuits

    Thank you! I am guessing that the panel cover will not fit back on after adding this add-a-fuse circuit. Correct?

    Thats right, it will not fit. MESO sells an extended height cover. I got it for mine but need to do more work to get it to fit. When I wired mine, I tied the two seats to the heated seat fuse spot, the lights to the interior light, don’t remember what it’s called, maybe panel or tail. I can’t remember what else I had to do for it.

    Wow, this looks great. Just so that I'm clear since I don't have a trailer brake controller I can buy that harness and use it to power my heated seats? It's not an always hot circuit? Would make the wiring really easy.

    Since you're the wiring guru would you use this method, add a tap to the fuse (likely heated seat empty fuse) or run a separate dedicated power? I had originally thought about adding the bussman fuse box under the hood to keep the heated seats and my kicker hideaway (currently wired to battery) isolated from the stock wiring. Is that overkill?

    It's an always HOT circuit, but your seat heater "should" run on a timer, as in don't light the seat on fire...you could add a relay to turn it off/on.(the circuit)
    Something like this:

    Depending on what amps are needed, add relay type and fuse appropriatly.

    The kit that I got has a relay built in. So I could just use this to power the seats and for illumination. Then the switched power off something in the fuse box that's not always hot. This gives me another great option.

    Now I have to decide if I want to do this, add a fuse off the already empty heated seat circuit in the fuse box or add the axillary bussman under the hood. Bussman is overkill but clean and would make future upgrades really easy. Thanks for you help.
