It hit me this morning this would be a good job for a magnet square. I knew we had one somewhere, found it under the welding table

We just fairly recently switched to some jigging tables and it was a bit of a transition, but they seem worth it in the end. We do a lot of lower quantity production jobs and it’s nice to not need to build a fixture for repeatability.
Rule #1 was NO WELDING TO THE WELD TABLES!!!!

 

That would be nice to have

We don't do production work and most of the things we make are 1 or 2 parts (a lot of prototypes). Occasionally we'll get the 100+ part job but not often. That's one of the things I enjoy here, it's always something different.

 

Damn, thats smart. If only glass was magnetic lol

 

Got it tacked together, now to turn it over and make sure I made it to the print before burning it in.

 

I’m just waiting for @McRib to come here and see the box of McNuggets under your welding table.

 

There’s actually 2 boxes but don’t tell anybody.

Well, shit.

 

Customer brought in two rotors with a 4 on 4.25” bolt circle. He wanted them 5 on 4.5”. Drew it up on cad to show him no matter how we lay them out one will interfere. He said he didn’t care, do it. They may be a tad out of balance now.

 

I know a guy who could probably make you some new frames out of glass

 

Hmmm... interesting.
I am curious how your machining charge compares to a new set of (correct) rotors.

 

I hope this person doesn't come back when something goes wrong...
