Best back up lights for the money?

    Bilstein 5100s, AFE dry intake, Icon AAL pack, Bed stiffeners, and ideally some UCAs soon
    As winter approaches and the PNW gets darker and darker I am in need of some more light for backing up. Any suggestions on how to do that cheap? Like less than a couple hundred?

    12v always on power point mod, tailgate anti-theft, Addl bed tiedowns, flyzeye dash lights, map lites with dome lite mod, bed stiffeners, air bags, brake controller, always on fog lights,
    I switched to the Osram 35w HIR bulbs. They are relatively inexpensive, and a massive amount of light. No problems as yet with any discoloration in the lens and they have been in about 6 months. Check the link posted above for info.

    I just did this same upgrade this past weekend with pics in that post. Night and day difference. I would suggest those as well

    +1 for the Osrams but buy an extra bulb or two - you have to bend the contacts to get them to fit into the sockets and the glass is extremely easy to break. Two pairs of pliers works best - a small needle nose to hold the base of the bend and a larger pair of regular pliers to do the bending.

    Night and day difference on the backup camera.

    LOL i bought 3 as well. Did pretty good with them so i have a spare in case anything happens to one of them. Thought about ordering 2 more just to have but i dont forsee any future problems

    For those of you having problems with bending the tabs on the bulbs, there is an easier way suggested by another smart TW member whose name a don't recall unfortunately. Just close up the spring tempered contacts in the socket just a bit with a pick. I did it and it worked like a charm.

    I ended up doing both and they are super solid in there - I bent the tabs and they were still a little loose so tried the pick trick. I wasn't sure if only bending the contacts would be enough but good to know.

    I did the same!! Used a nail and bent the the 3 tabs on each side of the socket. I did the tab or prong to the outside of the tab to get a good side connection as well. Very solid with no shaking or looseness
