I was cleaning out my hunting stuff getting ready for Saturday and found this shirt. I’ve had it since the 1990’s, bought it at Kmart before they closed. Anybody else remember when Treebark was one of the top names in camo?

That’s cool. I had a pair of tree bark coveralls that I wore for a long time and finally had to chunk them because the crotch got tore up so bad from crossing barb wire fences.

Was it Jim Crumley or something who started it?? I had the original Treebark and some Treebark II. Still might have a few hats in the original pattern. Also have a jacket in NaturalBark, which is similar, but the pattern has more irregular outlines - like a tree actually is.

Going to camp now, may try to get these pieces together when I get home for some nostalgic pics.

tripped on a root huh, the story i could tell bout that..old hunting spot, lots of vines climbin trees n such, went in and did a lot of cutting, trail cleaning, as i was taking my at the time 13 yr old son on opening day, rolled out there on turky day in the am to toss corn, and noticed a vine crossing the path that i had missed, didnt have any cuttin tools, dumped the corn n left, 2 days later, walking in with gun and flashlight in hand, turned the flashlight behind me, so my son could see where he was going (i had been so many times i didnt even need a light), well...hooked the vine and was body slammed face first into a gnarly stump on the side of the trail, laid there for a moment, thought i had broken my jaw, got up off the ground, and my son had this horrific look on his face, as i was bleedin like a pig, and my lower lip was hanging down below my chin, walked out with my visibly shaken son, got into my truck and started to leave, realized i couldnt see as i didnt have my glasses, drove back to the entrance of the trail, and walked back in with my son to find my glasses, he started lookin, but the scene was a blood bath, i took the light and found my bloodied, yet intact glasses. had to leave the property (gated) and check out with security, didnt roll my tinted window all the way down as i left, 63 stiches and 1 lost toof, and we still joke about it to this day, and thankfully, my son still hunts .....

I remember as a kid hunting an hour and 15 minutes from the house this older guy named Johnny who lived near us was skinning a deer and his knife slipped and went in his thigh. My dad was a fireman/EMT so he wrapped him up with a handkerchief and some electrical tape and ask him where he wanted to go? The nearest hospital was 45 minutes away in another state. Johnny said take me to Kernersville, near home. We haul butt in the truck and they put 9 stitches inside and can't remember how many outside. He's lucky he didn't bleed to death.

Another time a guy in the club was turning in his tree stand to hook his safety belt and fell, paralyzing him. Took a while for people to realize it and this was before cell phones. We had to drive to the store to call home. Someone drove to the store, called the FD and they flew a bird in and took him to the nearest hospital. He never did walk again.

    Y'all be careful

Also scouted a new area to bucket hunt (bring a bucket of corn, and then sit on the bucket) as compared to sitting in our 10’ tower blinds over feeders. Found a couple sheds so that must mean I’m in the right area. Also tons of sign and spooked 4 doe walking around
