Im pretty much settled on ordering it but after watching a few videos it makes me wonder if i could just modify my cargo box to work like the metal box they have? I have the VIAIR 400p and with the reviews of how hot it gets I wonder if it would potentially melt the plastic on the cargo box?

Are you planning on hard wiring it or using the battery clamps it comes with ? My older unit gets hot also but it doesnt take that long to cool enough to throw it back in the bag

Until I hard wire it im going to use the clips. Have a trip this weekend to the shore and as long as the OSV zone opens back up from the coastal flooding I plan to test it out, but once im home im pretty certain ill be ordering the mounting box and then hard wiring it with a switch.

Assuming you are doing front coilovers. You should get a front end alignment after the coilover install. So you don’t need an alignment when you get the new tires.

Just drill some large holes in the top of the plastic box if you feel safer but honestly, unless you mount a hose fitting in the door or the side of the bed you're going to have the door off while you're using it.

It has a plate to protect the bottom but I bet if you wanted to, you could remove that and bolt it to the bottom leaving the isolators on.

Is the box removable from the bed if so I’d take it out line it with some thin gauge aluminum and put a couple of vent holes in both sides that way it get fresh air in exhaust/heat out use small vent grommets. You could do the whole job cheaper then the arb style box.

Yea but does it really need to be vented with the door off? By the time you get your hoses put away I bet it cools off enough. Those cubbies aren't air tight. At least mine isn't
