Anyone who has actually seen a dead cat bounce knows it’s far higher than whatever we saw this morning.

It's still very possible for this to be a DCB. The VIX has chilled out so that leads me to believe this is just normal profit taking. I'm long OCT calls in both TSLA and NVDA right now. If I'm wrong I'm done trading this year.

So I currently have 15% of my portfolio in cash...I’m down anywhere between 15-45% on my oil stocks..energy is around 19% of my portfolio (I was heavily investing in oil late 2019 and then I just bought more in March—-that’s a other conversation) anyways what do you guys suggest I do with my cash balance? Maybe I should average down on my oil stocks? I was thinkin of finding some mid-cap stocks to throw into but I was also Just want to sit back and wait till after elections—-I have core holdings that are long term holds and I also have handful of stocks I like to go in and out of

I’d wait on adding to your oil holdings until there is at least better recovery. You are pretty hefty in that sector already. It really depends on your goals. I’ve only been adding to some long term dividend stocks I don’t sell, while maintaining a good cash position as well for whatever may happen in the next few months. And the occasional short term play out of boredom, taking advantage of the ups and downs in the markets

We havent had TP or paper towel in the targets in Illinois since this popped off. I have to shop for paper towels at lowes and TP at costco. I saw what's going on in europe. I dont THINK that will happen again here outside of some states that are being managed with a heavy hand right now. Could be wrong!

My wife works for United and it's a pretty bleak outlook right now. No one letting Americans in is really messing things up right now. Oct 1st is the day of reckoning and when the mass layoffs are coming in that industry.

Down here in rualish NC it's like COVID doesnt even exist, stores stocked up and somewhat normal life going on, compared to Illinois which is a mess right now.

Same here in rural Northern Colorado. I have accused the big cities of assuming it's bad everywhere, but I'm also guilty of assuming it's pretty much nothing everywhere. I guess it's somewhere in between.

im in texas we are finally turning around a bit but doesnt seem to matter all that much business wise.
we had a ton of deaths down here and had that new york terror going on for a bit in july. seems better now, schools reopening in a couple of weeks. I imagine all hell will break loose once kids and teachers start testing positive.

I'm worried about the flu season getting mixed up with COVID, causing some panic and some economic damage. Mentally I'm not prepared for that BS, but I got some cash ready to buy some cheap stocks if it does!

It will certainly be interesting trying to separate flu and COVID deaths for the counts. Remember, they mixed up a motorcycle accident death with COVID, and the symptoms don't overlap nearly as much in that situation as they will with the flu.
