Magnuson supercharger install here at down east offroad

With a locked and fixed tune, a pulley might be an option in the meantime. All speculation until you have more data.

 

That was the common perception for the 2nd gen. The supercharger wakes the motor up and made the truck feel as it should from the factory. Then stepping down from a 3" to 2.8" pulley wakes the blower up and makes it feel as expected going from N/A to forced induction.

 

Maybe that wasn't the best response but on your part, imagine demanding information that he doesn't have to give. Imagine being that guy who demands he go out of his way to give you what you want right away, right now. He's planning on waiting for 2 months of ownership and driving with the supercharger and planning on a thorough review with his opinion, likes and dislikes, observations, etc.

But no, that's not good enough for you, you have to have it right now. He doesn't have to give you or anybody else anything at all. This ain't Amazon prime, get out of here with that shit.

I'm looking at doing before and after dynos for when I install my twin turbos. Guess what man, I don't have to share the results with anyone, nor do I have to do a thorough review of the kit when I've got some miles on it. If you came at me the way you approached him, I'd tell you to gtfoh and might not post anything at all just out of spite, because I'm a spiteful mf'er.

It's one thing to ask for something like 0-60 times and dyno charts, but the way I remember reading it this morning, it came across much differently.

 

Dude has the thing on a dyno at Vivid on his instagram that he's really trying to push with his post and a 0-60 video takes hopefully less than 30 seconds to take and post. He has the info, he doesn't want to post it so he can push instagram engagement. He is a self described "brand ambassador" after all. This has nothing to do with Amazon prime or anything else. This is your buddy wanting instagram/youtube followers and nothing else.

You're right though, he doesn't owe us anything.

 

Tacomabeast and yotamafia have had pix of theirs on IG for weeks now... with nothing more than a donut video and some noises...

 

That's my real gripe with the dude's Facebook post (and his buddy's defense above). He wants people to engage with him, he wants to drive traffic to his social media, he has the info, he's just not posting it because it doesn't fit his social media info rollout. Just say that. Don't act like a child.

Edit: Also interesting that he alleges to be a full paying customer so I'm assuming he's not under any kind of NDA from Magnuson like the other "influencers" seem to be.

 

I don't think that's entirely it man.

Does it come off that way? Sure. Is it the best way to go about it? Personally, no.

But nevertheless his plan is to wait the 8 weeks and then give a thorough review. And so like I said, and like you agreed, he doesn't have to do that. Just like he doesn't have to give up what was demanded.

 

All he has to do is post the video with a click bait title like "supercharged Tacoma 0-60 you won't believe the results"; Then add.
-Drone footage with stock unlicensed music.
-15 minutes of talking and an ad before the actual 0-60
-End video with asking for likes and subscribe.

 

Idk about any NDA. Vivid approached him and offered to cover labor if he paid the kit in full. Vivid benefitted from access to the truck for taking video and pictures of install and whatnot, no doubt for their own purposes for marketing.

Idk if he's under NDA but I do know that he wasn't allowed to discuss publicly the install until after Magnuson had officially gone live

 

Interesting, didn't know he got the install for free.

I’d assume things are embargoed until Magnuson gives the green light. That’s usually how stuff like this works, then everything drops all on the same day from everyone.
