Saw some fresh signs. But to thick. Found signs and a spot.
hot setup. Then the dogs and owner came.
Never saw me. I must be smell proof with my camo in a bag of leaves. Not upset. Best I’ve felt mentally in months. I need this.
Long way to go in the Season.
Thankful I’m well enough to do this.

    Well
    My day ended kinda fast.
Checked out a few other spots.
    Heard more dogs
    Then the dirt bikes
    More yelling
    So I left.
    Another day....

Maybe I'll stick with the 100s then. Bowtech Tomkat that should be around 60lbs draw. Trophy ridge drop away rest, really basic 3 pin sight, sighted for 25, 35, 45. I've had it since around 15 or so. Wouldn't mind something newer but it gets the job done just fine. Can't tell you much about the arrows. I know they are as short as possible.

It's been almost 6 years since I've hunted so haven't done much with the bow since. I was surprised to find the string in good shape when I opened the case.

Excited to be back out hunting though. Still have mule deer, bear, lion and wolf tags. Doubt I'll stumble upon the last 3 but I've been getting close to sealing the deal on a muley. Definitely a different game than the whitetail I'm used to hunting.

Didn't get out for elk this year. My current setup is a Hoyt HyperForce 62Lbs, 28-1/2" draw, Easton Axis 340's with 50 gr brass inserts. Tipped by 100gr ViperTricks. 465gr arrow at 270fps. Those that have helped me on my elk hunt planning have assured me that my setup is way more then sufficient. These are guys that have put 30, 40 or so elk on the ground with stick n string. I think your fine. The proof is in the pics!! Congrats again.

Montana elk are kicking my ass right now, but here’s a mule deer. First bow kill of my life, first kill in Montana, and happened to get her on the first day of hunting.

Should have actually taken a more sportsman photo but I was on the side of a mountain that was kicking my ass trying to get her to the top.

I’ll blow y’all up with pictures when we leave.

Coastal jungle was closed due to fire danger so got my ass kicked in this big open country instead. Missed low on a big coyote and partner missed on a muley we had at 35yds. Next day I got baited into the bottom of this canyon (photo is halfway down) bugling an elk for an hour but he went silent by the time I made it to the floor. Found a shed at least :sadviolin: good times.

Next time that happens make a sled out of some branches and paracord.
It will save alot of energy and also makes it easier for 2 people to drag.
Look up different ways to make it:thumbsup:
