I hope everyone's already prepared for the purge. I know have. Rule 1: nobody gets to open the security gate. Rule 2: Beers are mine, so back off. Rule 3: in the event you break rule 2, rule 1 will be null until you get thrown outside to fend for yourself.

 

Electric.. hybrid.. anything as long as it’s an upgrade from the 3.5

 

Can we even build enough batteries to pull this off? Maybe there will be newer battery tech by then, but it’s going to be a major challenge.

 

I already drive to Nevada to buy ammunition, what's to stop me from buying a car there? Neighbor got her new Tacoma in Carson City and her boyfriend got a new Tundra - saved a lot doing it. No hassle registering in Calif except for the Covid-19 wait..

 

I imagine registering it, or an older gas vehicle, is going to be even more excruciatingly expensive than it already is.

Can't imagine they'd allow you to register it in California after 2035 if it runs on dino-juice.

nailed it. 15 years from now I'll still be enjoying my lunch beer and finding the one crazy girl at the bar that ends up trying to steal my truck. Some things never change

 

15 years from now I’ll be retiring to enjoy my electric truck.

 

I’ll still be working, but also enjoying my electric truck.

 

Maybe they can call it the TACOHMA TM

 

The real question is, who's gonna be the first to try and build a homemade mercury battery out of brake pads, sponges and loose change to power their electric vehicle when it dies out in the middle of the desert

 

I'm sure they'll be a healthy market for 'used' late model ICE vehicles with inflated prices.
