FJ Special Edition Anthracite gray wheels let's see'em

To those who were lucky enough to find a dealer that would sell them the FJ Cruiser Special Edition Anthracite gray wheels......how about posting up some pics....

 

I think it matches perfectly, that's why I got them.

Albeit a bit dirty in this pic, this is the only one I could find of my truck after the rims. I don't think there is a better looking wheel out there for the taco.




Speaking of, I need to update my build thread, I have made a few changes since then.

During the transition:

 

The silver is a great contrast. I have had Anthracite rims on my old M3 (BBS RGR) and it always appears as though they are dirty, just the nature of the color. They (TRDs vs stock ORs) actually look far different side by side.. the OR's are much softer looking. Function is what I was looking for. The TRD's are 16x7.5 compared to 16x7 so thats a whole 1" wider track for the truck creating a much nicer stance! Also, it's easier to throw a wider tire on safely with the .5"..

The nice part of getting the silvers is that I plan to powder coat them black someday and I won't regret doing so in comparison to "messing up"
the limited grey ones.. but thanks for your $.02

 

Silver is a comon color, they are everywhere......Anthracite TRD's are rare, hard to purchase are a great contrast, and very easy to keep clean and do not show brake dust. Love'n mine!

 

You've attached pictures of your truck numerous times in this thread, we know what it looks like now! haha

You say they are "everywhere", but in my town of San Diego (2 Million people +) I have only seen them (silver) twice, and that was on the vehicle they came on. FJ TRD Package.. Saw 2 sets of Black TRD TT wheels too on that respective vehicle.. my Tacoma is the only one I have seen with them. Let's not hate too much, it's just paint.. remember this..

They really are not "rare"..it's a Toyota wheel for crying out loud. All that makes them "rare" is that Toyota is being stingy in letting OTC (over the counter) sales right happen now but months back they were just as easy to get. I had my opportunity to get them 6 months back and declined, does that make me an idiot? no way.. lol

If we were talking a rare BBS/Volk/Enkei/ect. rim which had a limited production run I could see you calling them rare... these TRD Anthracite's are still being made as we speak (well, not on Thanksgiving, but you get my drift)

Not trying to stir the pot, I love the Anthracites and think they look great on your guys truck.. but they are not these mystical creatures in the forest we can't see. Happy Thanksgiving.. I'm out of this thread..

Please reread the originial post, I requested to see those who have the anthracite gray TRD wheels......you don't. No big deal to me but why bother taking the time to post on this thread?

The OEM silver wheels look great on the Taco's, the color silver is still a comon "color" wheel on the taco and silver colored wheels are everywhere...just an observation it does not mean I don't like the silver. However, my silvers were a PIA to keep clean. I just happen to like the look of the anthracites more as do a few other members on here.

Chill bro....... this site is all about fun and showing off mods or your truck and learning more about the Tacoma.

As the OP I asked to see other pics of other members trucks that have the anthracite's installed and for those members to post up a few pics.

Here is another "numerous" pic of mine...

My taco with guess what? Silver OEM wheels.....just before I added the FJ SE TRD OEM anthracites which are still a rare site to see on Tacomas "in my town".

I would love to see the anthracite wheels on a red and dsm Tacoma. I have never seen them on any Tacoma or FJ in the DFW area. As far as being a rare item, I must agree with Taco4x4NC. If they are difficult to obtain, that makes them rare.

 

Saw the wheels on and FJ while I was driving through the woods. Thought of flagging him down and asking if he wanted to swap
