    Earlier this year I purchased a 2008 Tacoma 4x4, the truck already had a OME front lift and OME rear shocks but it has the factory leafs with an add a leaf of unknown height. The owner couldn't remember which height lift was on the front so I am trying to figure out what lift height I need on the rear to level the truck out. On the front I run a ARB bumper with WARN winch and on the rear I have a leer shell and a fab fours bumper. The rear of the truck sits about 1/2" lower than the front.

    Any advice or recommendation on lift height for the rear leafs? I am leaning towards a Dakar OME pack but damn they are expensive so I may have to settle for something a little cheaper if they are comparable.

    Well my guess was off, the front measures 24.25" from center of hub to the fender and the rear measures 23.25". Like I said, I am not positive what the lift height is of the front coils and I have no idea what the rear add a leaf is so I am kinda stuck guessing. I really didn't want to spend $1000 on a new rear suspension but I also don't want to stuff blocks in the rear either. Besides the height difference I also was hoping to rid of the minor axle wrap movement at take off and stop from the crappy leafs.

    I have the TRD Bilstein Pro kit and Icon RXT’s on my 2012. RXT’s are on option (3) and I have a Ranch cap and Victory bed rack.

    The day of install my measurements were as follows;

    Rear Driver: 26-1/2”
    Rear Passenger: 26 -1/4”

    They have settled a bit. I’ll go out in a min and measure again.

    AAL is going to be a temporary band aid compared to a full leaf pack. Id try to save up and get the Dakar leafs if you can.

    I don't have a problem spending for quality but my first problem is that I don’t know what height leaf pack to research. Once I can narrow down the desired lift height I can start to focus on the various manufacturers. This truck is primarily used for backroads so I don't need it to be ready for serious offroading. I just want to get rid of the axle wrap and level the truck out.

    So within what I was hoping to spend I am debating between the OME dakars at 2.75” lift and the iron man at 2” lift. Is there much quality or ride difference between these?

    I would go with the Dakars. There are a lot of people using them. I plan on installing them on my truck soon.

    I have been running the ironman leaf pack for many years now with zero issues. I have front/rear AP bumpers, bedrack, softtopper and the ride is very smooth. Most importantly, no squeaks.

    Not to hijack the thread but can you give me a bit more info on the Ironman springs? Hard to find folks running them around here. I've got it narrowed down to these or General Spring HD's. I have the General SD's now and they are rusting after a couple years, even in AL. Also they are flat just like my OEM's before that. Any rust on the Ironman leafs? Also how much lift after settling? Thanks man.

    Slight surface rust but overall still in good shape. Ubolts has more thread rust but I was planning on swapping those for a ubolt flip kit. Still sitting level with the front. It is currently around 1.75" of rear lift with the rear weight of accessories.

    Op there should be a sticker on the OME front springs that will tell you which ones they are. 885,886,887,888

    I would suggest 886 with the weight up front.

    With rear I would suggest a minimum of HD Dakar full pack.

    Hope that helps

    nice, very minimal rust compared to my 2yr old general springs! Do they pair well with the 5100’s? I’m currently running the same.
