Based on the number of people who insist on 'leveling kits' and the lousy OE rear leaf springs, I concur!

GM has a lot of issues. I've had several coworkers bring their brand new pickups in for warranty work that shouldn't even be a thing on such a new truck (new rear ends, new oil pump, etc.) I, myself, traded in my GMC because of numerous issues as well. As someone who grew up a GM guy, it took a lot for me to admit Ford was better (RAM is just a joke). As a guy who grew up in Michigan, it took a lot for me to step outside of the big 3 and go to Toyota. I wish you the best of luck with your Silverado. I've always felt GM had the best ride and initial quality, but it never lasts.

    Working on it ...
I don’t know .. I’m on my fourth Toyota truck. It all stated in 1988 with my first new purchase. I buy pick up trucks cause I use them as - well, pickup trucks. I work them hard, drive them hard and put em way wet. Take care of them mechanically because if they are off the road, and so am I. I try to be careful where I park and take care of it best I can, but if I get a ding or Nick I’ll be upset for a bit but will get over it. My previous trucks have been very good to me all of which were extremely high mileage when I turned them in. My current fourth one which I’ve had for nine months, is about to turn 15,000 miles, which includes 2 1/2 Months sitting in my driveway due to Covid. It is a 2019 TRD sport and has been rock solid.

Silverado is nice nice looking truck. F150s are also nice. But for me, when it came to find my fourth truck, I went straight for another Toyota.

I am amazed at how many people buy pick up trucks because it is “cool” to drive a pick up truck. With that said I am also a firm believer of, “to each their own”.

Really with the 3rd gen nonsense, when you actually own one, then feel free to chime in, otherwise...

I own a 3rd gen and a 1st... just swapped the 2nd gen out... man, i love my 3rd but the 2nd blazed rocks so well and seemed more solid and indestructible... I see that you have had a few trucks... Have you broke a 3rd gen in on trails so it feels like a trail truck? mine doesn't feel like that truck.

Not that crazy, but it's just like you're doing your best, no sense in getting worked up off stuff that doesn't really matter in the big scheme of things anyway. Humans always look up, looking down from time to time ain't such a bad thing either.

I had my 17 on some stuff in NJ pine barrens, sand pits and my 19 in the AZ desert, no issues, felt just as solid. I think its in most people's heads, but I get it everyone has their things, and prior to the trans update, it was definitely not the greatest power delivery wise like the old 4.0. But the 2nd gen is more reliable sh*t drives me bonkers, especially from those that have never owned one, seeing plenty of 3rd gens now pushing over 100k without issues and let's not kid ourselves 2nd gens had "issues" as well.

Nice, ya it was really only to illegal riding spots when I rode MX, lol. Heard good things about AOAA. I feel ya, size wise I still loved my 1st gen. Maintenance wise loved my 2nd gen (so easy to do).
