Not talking shit or anything negative, but invest in better lighting / background. The lighting makes the undercut look huge on these.

    did you get em on?

mine are at the shop waiting for me to get back out there, hopefully w/in 2-3 weeks.

my builder was not fully confident in a 2-3 hour install. he would check, but wasn't sure, he may have to drop the front diff for it, but won't know until he gets in there. so that's what I'm wondering with your experience. :)

No. I attempted to start the drivers side and said screw it lol. Such a tight space especially now my turbos and Manifolds are all bolted up. I should have done them when it was stripped :annoyed:
I’m going to have a shop do them. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

The stock mounts are a joke, this is a great idea for any mega builds for sure.

If you guys only knew what holds the motors in haha, 4 tiny bolts.

what would your opinion be regarding the install? the instructions look super straightforward and he says it only requires significant prying etc if the frame has some deflection. after everything i just did i really don't want to pay to drop the diff for access. but if we need to we will...

I've only removed them with engines, never replaced. I would say a ratchet wrench is critical and jack up the motor as high as it can go.

The long way, but easiest would be to remove the manifolds.

Book time is 10 hours, it's not easy.

Front diff makes it more work for sure, just less room. I have guys that said 3 hours. Ive had guys that say all day. Its really dependent on your mechanical skill and assortment of tools. Having a buddy always helps.

If your truck frame/perches are bent from off-roading, then it will be more work to line things up haha. It doesn't take much to tweak these frames as the OEM mounts allow for so much flex.

Remember, a flexy bendy rubber mount is easy to move around to line holes up. Harder, polyurethane mounts are not. So the tolerances are TIGHT. Leave everything loose..everything until all bolts are hand threaded in. This can take some trial and error!

Personally, I'm around 4 hours for the 4.0 and the 3.5 motors. Gear wrenches are a lifesaver, and socket extensions.

The good news, you wont have to do it twice and you'll have peace of mind and cheap insurance:thumbsup:

2021 4X4 Sport AC 3.5L MT - OME lift with Dakar leafs. 10x33 Coopers. ARB Bumper. KDMax Tune. 2017 SE AC 2.7L 2WD AT - OME lift with Dakar leafs, BA bumper, tooter manifold spacer, header, OVTuned. LED lights. Does not run like your average 2.7; this truck pulled a broken down HMMWV out of a wash. 2008 PreRunner 4.0L - 3" spring lift with Bilstein 5100s, ARB bumper, rear sway arm. Old Reliable, been around, beat up, and still runs like a beast.
Just reading this, as my 2017 with 40K miles and a 2.7L is in in the shop with a broken mount after driving down a bumpy road... WTF I was thinking, who breaks an engine mount? I abused my 2008/4.0L for almost 200K miles like a unwanted step child and never broke a thing (and I'm still driving that truck while the 17 is in the shop).

Who knew. I see these upgraded mounts are V6 / V8.

Yeah most of the access is from the top so DO IT BEFORE MOUNTING UP THE TURBO MANIFOLDS! It will make it 100X easier with all that out of the way. I have reinforced shock towers too.. doesn't make it easier or harder lol

Thank you for the heads up!!! I’m going to wait to mount the coilovers so I have better access for both the mounts and turbo install.

mine are going in on the 19th-20th. I've have modded the crap out of my truck, and this is literally the most exciting one I've had lined up in 2 years.
