Im looking for a shop/welder on Oahu to purchase a set of rock sliders for my 2015 tacoma access cab. Ive looked around but the only place i found claimed it would be $900 for sliders...

Does that seem like a reasonable price for shipping sliders? The owner claims shipping for sliders to hawaii would be $450.. i let him know that from my research shipping to hawaii from LC Engineering was only 105 for sliders..

Has anyone found a good local shop?

You were asking him why Cali Raised charges 450 to ship to Hawaii. He doesn't work for Cali Raised. So he suggested calling them to ask why they charge 450

I don't see how they're screwing people over. You asked for a price, he gave you a price. If you don't like their price, find a better one

They have to ship them freight on a pallet. It’s expensive to do that. Best thing to do is see when a bunch of Hawai’i guys are going in on armor. The companies will ship a bunch of stuff freight and you’ll save a little on shipping. That’s how we all got it over there.

I wasnt asking why cali raised charges 450.. they dont. I checked with my address on the same sliders and cali raised is 230! Big difference from 450..

I meant that as why other companies can ship for so much less and why he is making the price spike. I know they need to make money but.. really?

My assumption is that they are a business, shipping in large orders of these items already.. if u ship a single one on a pallet, sure it might be expensive but if ur shipping 10 and some other stuff why would it still be 450 for each item you sell? Im assuming bumpers and racks would be even more due to weight and size.. Also why not just go to cali raised if this company is just a middle man.. if anything they are probably getting a discount being a distributor shipping in bumpers, sliders and racks in larger quantities

I did a quick google search for where Cali raised and LC engineering are located. Both of them probably ship out of the same port so assuming that's Long Beach.... Cali raised sliders have to travel an extra 1100 miles that the ones from LC don't have to. That has to cost something. Also here's the link to the Hawaii forum.

    Thanks!

Okay, thats reasonable. I didnt think about that, but cali raised doesn't charge 450. Its 230 but the owner claims thats how much they charge him.. so either hes a liar or hes getting screwed i guess. I made sure to put in all the info an go all the way to checkout to get these prices
