The city in Ohio that DHL uses is going to be hurting soon.

I thought I heard on the news tonight that Circuit City is going under now too.

If Best Buy goes under, I'll be like a kite caught in a hurricane. I won't know where to go for my electronic goodies.

Its a scary time for everyone. Since i am not traveling now my pay was cut in half. And I am in the office with nothing to do. There is no way my company can afford to keep 5 people employed untill this spring. I know its a matter of time. I have been thinking about building some wood crafts to help make up for lost hours. But i would need to invest in a bandsaw. HAHA the wife doesnt see my logic in that.

I've been out of work 5 months now. I'm not sure mine is completely due to the economy. I was a project mgr for a law firm in Manhattan and we merged back in '02. I knew the writing was on the wall from then, it was just a matter of time til the reorganization took place and it finally got to my position.

I honestly didn't think it'd take me this long to find another job. They don't even want to talk to you unless you have some type of college degree. I worked right out of HS. I learned everything from the jobs I've had and always moved myself up the ladder. I guess that little piece of paper does mean something after all.

I'm going to pursue my degree but I need work now. I just started bartending school today. I figured I might be able to make some xtra cash off the books that will help pay the bills. I always wanted to do it when I was younger but never did.

    I work for a telecommunications company.......we're expanding at a 100mph.
But the city I work in is an oil/gas community. Not sure what's going to happen there.
THe city I live in is a mining town....potash.....i was a miner for a while. Potash was $82 a ton when I started.....it's $800 a ton now. They're growing FAST!

Needless to say no housing crunch here....our housing prices increase all the time thanks to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center & the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (love that gov't money!)

WE HAVE ALOT TO BE THANKFUL FOR THIS YEAR. And you folks that have been hit hard in these trying times are always in my thoughts. Guss I'm getting old.....I don't just think about myself/my family only anymore.

Sorry for the soapbox.....I get on my Dennis Miller pedestal once in a while.
