The guy that makes them made the first ones for his 03(uses the Toyota bushings I believe). He makes them for all 3 gens and has never had a failure. He also says it gives you more power b/c your putting it to the ground. I think that's a bit sketch, but it seems like a good product. He's also stated that for most people, this upgrade isn't needed. It's for harder off roading. I saw where Meso has a set, so I'm sure he'll give a review of them.

Anyone interested in a set of hi-lift bedrail mounts?

Yeah, I don't need them to be quick off the line, I got them because a lot of samurai guys break their mounts, just looking for something stronger.
I did have to replace one on my Tacoma, broke the mounts and pulled part of the frame off with it. I reinforced the frame with a piece of 3/16 plate so that problem should be fixed
    :fingerscrossed:

He says it's for the hardcore guys and that 99% of people won't need them. I think it's a cool concept and glad it's there if needed though.

Solid mounts just remove the engine’s ability to flex I the frame due to centrifugal motion created by the crank shaft. Know how an engine in neutral shakes when you rev it up? Solid mounts stop that. This means that all the rotating torque must be absorbed by the chassis and driveline. It might make throttle to tire response a little quicker but at the risk of warping your frame or breaking an axle. It is useful in high power race cars to make handling better. Basically, if you don’t know if you need solid mounts, you don’t.
Google “torque induced chassis flex” to see what can happen.
